@grindcorenl Man video editing programs edit .mov files. What were you using, windows Movie Maker. There are also many video converter programs. Hey, with imovie you can't edit wmv I don't think...it is a nifty little camera, but now use the ZS3 which has hd and zooming while filming. I use this for multi camera work...or will when I have freedom to do a concert. I am ft caregiver and not free to do gigs. But have equip...
No, you cannot zoom while filming. Think I mentioned that on the video. Still cameras are just now offering this feature, but sometimes the lens zoom noise is picked up by the mic. The Lumix TX5 (HD with 720) is recent camera that allows zooming while videotaping. Have a feeling other P&S cameras will offer this too. This also has 10x optical zoom.
I dropped my Jazz DV150 few months ago and killed it. The best thing to happen to me, since I researched and replaced it with this Lumix. I love it. The video is much better than anything I was used to.
I took it on a trip to Disney recently. I posted a nice wide-screen clip of us riding the Expedition Everest Roller Coaster, came out great. Check it out. I'll probably be posting more Disney clips, after I'm done editing them. The Fireworks show came out fantastic.
Thanks...I viewed your Everest footage, very impressive! And commented there that wonder if it's a fluke that this cheap camera has such great video. Wonder if going up the food chain in the Lumix line...if the video is same or even better? Of course, now some cameras are 1080p. Be sure to view this sample and the Everest in the Better Quality mode.
I don't know about codecs. This camera shoots a simple .mov file (iMovie likes this format.). Some other digital cameras with a video mode might use a .wmv file. (Windows Movie Maker 2 likes this format.) So if you are using MM2, you'll have to get some sort of video conversion program to reconvert from .mov to the .wmv format. .
First, push the lever over from PLAY to the Camera Record function (this is upper right corner on the back.) Below this lever is a small oval button named MODE. Push this and you will see a display of REC MODE. Move the yellow bar selection down to MOVIE; press Menu Set button. When you press the shutter, the movie will start recording (the red icon will flash on the screen); press again to stop. To play back movie, slide the button back to PLAY and then push the top bar on the circular buttons.
Yes, even a bit larger. A nifty camera! Remember, you cannot refocus nor zoom WHILE you are shooting, so it takes shot planning (true of most digital cameras in video mode). I use Mac's iMovie for editing & titles. On Windows XP, you can use the free program called Windows Movie Maker (you'd have to convert the .mov files from this camera to wmv file that Movie Maker uses.) Many inexpensive video editing programs offer titling. Seen this camera on sale for about $99 lately. Google "DMC-F3S"
hmm...so.. yea im argentinian but right now im in spain but im going to buy this camera, its amazing, so the videos are in .mov ... no problem i have a conversor, can i download de imovie? ok subscribe to me and i subscribe to u if u want check my short film, im 14 and i dont speak english so sorry.
You emailed about downloading iMovie. This is an Apple product that works only on a Mac, so go to the Apple store on line and see if it is downloadable. It comes in the iLife group. The version that is most versatile is from the previous iLife 06. If you buy iLife 08, you can download the 06 iMovie program. I bought mine at the actual Apple STORE. The iLife suite costs about $100 US.
i got one too:)
but i got a problem...

What's so weird about this video, is that I got this camera on the day this video was posted: on my birthday in 2008 (;

How do i save videos from my Lumix DMC-Fs3 digital camera to my computer? and keep all of the video footage
killjoy2647 1 year ago
@killjoy2647 you take out the SD card, us a USB card reader of some sort... and transfer it over just like any other file.
The camera is now passed along to another, but I believe it also came with a usb cord so you can transfer over files that way.
