Despite what hardcore Duke fans think, I loved Coy & Vance and wished they finished the whole episode, helping Bo & Luke, foil Boss Hogg's plan of the week. Saying the goodbyes at the end, would've been better. Still love John Schinder though. Who would think he would play Jonathan Kent (SMALLVILLE) 20 years later?
@14DaveHunter Yes, it would have been a better ending for saying goodbye to Coy and Vance at the end of this episode instead of just kicking them off in the first 10 minutes of the episode.
@supernaturalsam4 Bo and Luke left the show after season 4. Schneider and Wopat were in a contract dispute with Warner Brothers over money and merchandise royalties. They walked off the show and were replaced by Coy and Vance (Cherry and Mayer) at the beginning of season 5. The ratings started to drop because people did not like the new guys so things got worked out. Coy and Vance were booted out at the end of season 5 and Bo and Luke came back for 2 more years before show was cancelled.
I like this scene seeing as each original Duke sat by his replacement. You might think Bo and Vance are wearing the same colors but they're not as Bo is wearing white while Vance is wearing yellow.
A classic scene. I know Schneider and Wopat are up there now, but do you think we could get one more reunion movie out of the Duke Boys? Get everyone (that's alive) for one more roundup?
@SidJustice1 They could, we would only be missing Boss and Jessie and they were missing in the last reunion movie. Vance and Lulu have passed but they were not in the first 2 reunion movies anyway. Rosco is still going at age 85, I think.
@SidJustice1 I just havetwo questions for you. Are you going to convince CBS brass? And then if they say Yes, which isn't likely. Are you going to convince the old cast?
@zazozung The second movie did not even have Denver Pyle. The reason a third movie was not done because ratings tanked on the second one. The first movie was great.

Anyone know where I can find a time machine? I'm pretty damn lonesome for the 70's and 80's right about now....

@SidJustice1 They both have said they will not do another movie because it doesn't seem right without Denver Pyle.
