"u can fix timing but u can't fix feeling", a derp derp derp., i'm from Appalachia, iz just betta here, trus me.... timing IS feeling, why do you think people pay good money for groove template libraries.... christ its easy making fun of nashville...
I have a microphone that I want to use to record a conference table conversation with a couple other people. Now when I try to direct record into my PC laptop, it comes out way to low in volume. Will this boost the signal to a much higher level? Is this the same as what phantom power does? I'm recording interviews where I just want to set a condenser mike down on the table about 4feet away, not hold it close to my mouth. Thank you.
@Halunlimited Dude! Phantom power is a voltage applied to the microphone line so that the microphone will function. This applies pretty much only to electret condenser microphones which are basically designed to either work with a battery in the mike or to be used with phantom power. Dynamic Mikes or condenser mikes produce their own signal without any outside power.
do you really think people can come in your studio and sing a song in 7 takes from front to end? Lol, thats a joke, that means they only would spend 45 minutes on a vocal track for a song that would be heard on the radio. I've worked with amazing singers and not once has that happened. 2hours min even for the great singers, i've heard some great demos that were done in 3 takes. But never for a record
dude expert village does suck. none of their videos are worth while, ive learned way more from people with cheap ass cameras talking in their living rooms. this turd village crap is a waste of time.
even if you take one thing from the video its worth while.
i hate people like you who say its wasting time.
you obviously dont understand the vastness of the internet. and you clearly cant speak for every single person who has internet access. which i would say is in the billions.
I've gone through tons of them. I've been tinkering with Logic lately and have seen just about everything offered on youtube. There's plenty of stuff online that has helped me greatly. But these Expert Village videos are a joke, seriously. And it sucks because in search engines , when looking for real videos, this garbage always pops up. They don't offer any detail on anything, and they're a waste of bandwidth. If you're looking for tips for Logic,, look up,,, Logic Ninja on youtube.
I completely agree with you. They're so devoid of any conscious goal or purpose, and thus useful information on a level higher than a young child's concern.
i think the main problem of expertvillage is that they try to explain things as "how to condition your studio" with a 50 secs video... it reminds me of a program here in spain where a lad in 30 mins shows you how to build an olympic swimming pool, or a cottage for your garden, it ends up being ridiculous, and of course, useless...
Hi, Kevin here with expert village. Turning up the volume on your speakers is a fairly easy task for some but can be extremely difficult for others. Now what you're going to want to do is turn the.. um.. well I can't show you since we here at expert village never give examples. But you do what I just said and there, your speakers are turned up. Thanks for reading.
tell me if u r from Perth. Or otherwise. type "home studio" in google. the first website is a tutorial website and it suggests some online shops. They're sweet. good luck!
How hard is it to make a break in Nashville, that is a large dream of mine. I am getting ready to start doing some recording at a local studio, so basically you are stating to just got a let it flow????
Don't bother, there are thousands of people just like you already there and they're tending bar and washing cars, but their music careers are nowhere.
Stay home, learn to write songs. Work on your voice(if that's what you do)take lessons. Learn the business of music(legal, creative, promotional, etc) because that's what it is, a business.
Write, Write, Write.
Collaborate with others. Learn your music theory inside and out.
Sweetie, do yourself a favour and heed my advice. I've got two friends that hold publishing deals in Nashville, and one is a signed artist. I also have a friend that owns a studio in both Nashville and LA. I'm keenly aware of how the system works. If you don't fit the mold the label has already cast, you're not getting signed.
You'd make more money as a writer. You just have to be able to write 50 songs a year to meet your quota.
I was really sincere when I commented thanks for the opinion I may only be 13 but i can take constructive critisim. Did you listen to the recording that I recently added last evening? I would like an honest opinion on those!
Sorry i dont mean to jump into your conversation even if it was posted two weeks ago...Here in California we do everything by our selves..For example there are places you can look up to get you music into online stores Itunes and all that good stuff..then if it sells okay there get the info saying how good your album is selling then show it to either a record store like FYE or if you want show it to a record deal...But in california we dont really wait for some one to sighn us
this contained no tips at all for recording vocals.
This just told me how Nashville can take talentless singers who can't even memorize the songs they w...er...had written for them and turn it all into manufactured, pop garbage.
Where are all thje videos on how to mix R&B vocal or POP vocals?
like really mixing
not just compressing and eq'ing
im mean a full song mixed from beginning to end
is there anything like that online?
if you can help me i would appreciate it

Phantom power will energise all those hidden phantoms inside your mic.
Then they will all jump out all of a sudden, and scare you out of your wits.

Anyone gotten to the video about how to turn your volume up to get more sound out of your speakers? sheesh, go away expert village, you suck balls.
