I don't know why everyone is saying bad things about dubs :/ it really just depends on who is dubbing it, the english voice actress for shana may suck but that doesn't apply to all animes for instance hetalia is good dubbed and so are many other animes it really just depends and personally i like dubs because you get to pay more attention to the animation and the characters instead of reading, but i agree that sometimes sub is better (like for neon genesis evangelion. . .

i learned this all way back when i first moved to the us. so hard cause i keep tryng t speak,and ill say a japanese word and people go: what? ex: aww! kawaii puppy dog :D what? cute? my nurse is always on my asss about it XD
ya it is indeed great fun sometimes :D when i came back to switzerland, i was at the hairdresser, speaking about japanese ... she was like "you prononce it quite similar to german, right?" and i was like "ya, well... kina ... try saying Shitsureishimasu" and she was like WTF :D
japanese seems to be quite catchy tho haha i still catch myself saying japanese expressions in daily life like 'ahh, samui' and stuff ^^ must be really hard to stop yourself as a japanese then, desho? ^_^
My favourite opening from Shana...the ONLY bad thing about this anime for me was the serious lack of Khamsin who was way too cool yet only present for like 2 or 3 eps. (that is including his 5 seconds appearance in Second)

Don't ever watch anime series with english dub, or whatever dubs it is! Always watch japanese series with japanese language with eng sub. It's so much better .And eventually, you'll get a hang of it ;)

For the record, SHAKUGAN NO SHANA is the only show where, upon first watching it- i watched both the dub and SUB
the VERDICT? THere's no diff, they're bothequally REALLY GOOD
Although I like MARCOS japanese voice and ALASTOR"S ENGLISH VOICE
But, there was no difference- i could watch either, and both were so SIMILAR...
Lol, that was the only anime i really tried watching both, - but pick one and you wont miss any of SNS's epicness

Shana was the first and only anime i watched in BOTH SUBS AND DUBS-
and now , months later, i;m sur of it-
there's no diff
Shana has some of the most similar dubs you'll find in a anime to subs
I'll admit i was shocked when I later read the english voice actor was said to almost be better than Rie, but she IS good nontheless.
I love Alastor's english voice- it rules.
