great ... the elocution didnt capture my dazed attention at this moment in time but the sound and schematic sound and look very amazing.hahah! ok formant frequencies for females!!! they are everywhere i looked on the net just now.
the biggest list i found was some crazy list from texas:
google this :North Texas vowel database
but it only does f1 f2 f3 i want to see also teh f4 f5 f6...
do formants represent the mouth shape and are the same for male and fem but the voice chords are different
really wonderful very old 20 30 sounding tenor or baritone voice, played thru an old Edison Cylinder or victrolla. Very Brilliant useful patch if you midi it will you share?
I'd love to test it out on my Eigenharp Tau. Really good for possibly for early music too. with less or more subtle lfo. Thanks for the inspiration. Gonna show this to my audio class for animators next week.
@12tanaz Sorry dude, I haven't done much research into graphics with Max, I'm more into DSP. Look up my Singularities videos for some interesting graphics/sound experiments, or my Oscilloscope.
Great Patch. it would be very interesting to contrast this with Jitter and somehow form a relationship with changeable images while the pitches change !

@12tanaz I've actually massively improved this patch and re-made it in Max 5, with MIDI input so you can actually "play" it. I'm going to share it along with a bunch of other cool stuff, as they actually have manuals, presentation mode, etc. Stay tuned.
is it possible have in stored midi vocal melodies, with a jitter video. the video would change colors when receives pitches (so every pitch would have different color)!!
along side this I would have another video, where the user would sing, and would function with those pitches, so as the result you would have 2 videos running at the same time. doing smiler job recognizing pitches and out putting different colors.
@12tanaz I guess so yeah. But I don't recommend Jitter, because it can be really really slow for live visualizations like that. Use something like Processing.
hi, this patch is great!! if you could possibly post up a screenshot or upload the patch or maybe direct me to the website you found the filter settings, that'd be fantastic :)
@ronnie9253 It's such a simple patch, I don't really see the point of uploading it anywhere. What you see on screen is all it is, just the added sine waves and three filters. I might upload it, but I'm sure you can find lots of better examples of this.
don't be so self-deprecating; the key to this patch is its simplicity! Maybe you could just upload a hi-res screen shot (after tidying up the patch first LOL)
amazing

This reminds me of the famous Spiricom machine. Google it for a fascinating story. Kind of creepy...

@profProsky I've already MIDI'd it, and far improved it, in Max 5. I just need to upload it somewhere when I find the time.

Do you have any good advice on how to create a patch, where audio and graphic have relationship ? I am really struggling here :(
