To me this game's soundtrack is rather lackluster compared to the other X games, But there's still some good'uns.

1. Morph Moth - Love the tense and intimidating tone.

2. Overdrive Ostrich - Fast paced and catchy.

3. Wheel Gator - One of the better ones.

4. Crystal Snail - Not too keen on the level but like the theme.

5. Magna Centipede - Neutral.

6. Bubble Crab - Eeeh, it fits the level I guess.

7. Flame Stag - Tries to sound ballsy but falls short.

I dunno, for some reason I think the whole X2 soundtrack lacked something, like one instrument was broken or the player got ill when it was time to record or something. I was maybe a bit too harsh on my words, and it is quite catchy as you go on in the game.

X3 however, it has some, how to put it...brutality and power, and it gives the feeling that you're screwed. XD It goes well with the design of the Mavericks as well.

I also thought Crystal Snail's theme was quite innovative. If you listen closely, the time signature in that opening blurb is 13/8 (13/16?)

Flame Stag could be some sick metal if arranged for guitars, bass and a drum-kit (with some cyber-metal sounds thrown in).

X6 did "fanservice" with the final boss theme too - the intro was a re-hash of the wireframe Sigma (Neo-Sigma) theme, while the main block of the theme was a mash-up of the first Sigma themes from the original X and X2. That said, it sounded cool with the hard guitar sounds.

I love Wheel Aligator's music. It's definately one of myfavorite songs of the X series. This one had great music! The boss music is fine, really. The only one I didn't really like was the Ostrich's. Maybe it's the style of the music that you don't like. if you notice, every game has it's own style of music. I didn't really like the style of music from X3.
