Ghost in the shell SAC was one of my favorite anime. I never really understood the usefullness of these Tachikoma robots. Still, It looks cool. This would look awesome beside a 12" Kusanagi figure.

Are you familiar with the show Ghost in the Shell? That's where Tachikoma comes from, this robot doesn't have people inside of it.

Actually, the "tank" at the back is a carrier for different kind of objects and for a person to take cover, etc.

Even in the first episode of GITS: SAC, there is shown people who are inside, taking cover.

But otherwise you are right, a Tachikoma is not a piloted robot, it has an AI.

A Tachikoma is a hybrid tank. It's a robot with AI and a tank. A person can ride/drive in the rear portion.

i disagree. the tachikoma is designed to either to carry/protect a person for shelter, especially VIP; pilot it manually, like batou and the major does, and lastly just rely on the AI and give it commands, like blow stuff up or recon since it has camouflage.
