okay this guy didnt land right. i used to land that way and i screwed up my knee. DO NOT LAND THAT WAY. land with one foot forward and RUN out of it. otherwise you can damage your knee horribly
In order to land on one foot to run forward after you have got to get a lot of height, and if you have it the difference of damagind your knees between two footed and one footed front isnt that much.
@landgabriel I understand the one foot is called the Webster flip. Which is easier? A front tuck or a webster. is one easier than the other but depending on circumstances like I said above?
@SexxyKevin okay.. take a bigger step in to your front flip with more power and jump up more your still kinda leaning down alot with your body keep it more straight also try to get so fast and tight with your tuck so that you dont have to hold it (just tuck and release) that way you have more time to prepare for your landing ...a softer landing is always more ninja!
@liamis01177 dude age doesnt play a concept in anything....its how long u been practicing, if u think ur better than him fine....dont criticize just brag..
@Th3H0wT0 well my front flips were reaaaaally low to the ground and it was because i was like diving foward into a frontflip instead of jumping straight up up
it is possible to land on your neck but only if u are able to do aerial :P if u can't do aerial u will always use your hands to protect your head :) it is just a normal movement :d last week i after failed front flip i was falling down on my head but when i was like 2 ft close to the ground my arms protected my head on her own ...
Jumping UP is important . UP , UP , UP . Tuck hard . You suppose that if someone watch it he knows the technique ? You are wrong! nice front flip btw :D
ok, dont tell me i will fail because i am scared, if u dont do stuff cuz ur scared i bet 1000 bucks that u will be quivering in a corner the rest of your life
@The1996FreeRunner ya whats a spotter? im also scared of doing this. Ive attempted it once and landed on my back and it hurt a lot im too pussy to try it again.
ive never landed on my neck but when i first got them i landed on my face coz i pretty much got caught on something and faceplanted the floor was very funny :)
in the fall season I like to make huge leaf piles and jump off of something like a picnic table into the piles for practicing. Absorbs shock pretty well
i realy wana do this cos i do parkour/ free running but ure never gona impress people if u cant flip so is there anyway of conquerin my fear btw i dont hav a trampoline or any safety equipment
ok frontflips are way harder then backflips in my opinion but there not scary at all i went to my park were there is beauty bark and i just kep practicing. it doesnt hurt cuz u only land on yur but or back unless u realy suck.
that will never happen unless you pussy out of jump forwards. REMEMER jump up, throw your arms down, tuck as tight and as hard as you can and you'll land them. if you can practice somewhere like a gym just or a trampoline just flop over a few times to get rid of the fear of falling.
ive never seen someone bail so bad they land on there neck with a frontflip. and if your scared still practice on thick gravel, sand like the beach or if u have a spare matress set it up next to something.
@zelinski23 true the worst part of your body that you are most likely to land on is your back and if you are in sand or grass you dont get hurt too bad
Hrm, he's right. The arms are very important. I wouldn't call the overall video bad though, the video quality is fantastic -- hard to find on YouTube, and nice editing as well.
Holy crap that guy lands nicely for flipping on the ground. I hope to get my front flips like that soon, I just got them a few days ago :) :) I have bad landings doing it on flat ground, but I can do them off of things decently :)
A lot of people jump out more than up to help them rotate, which this guy doesn't. The reason he lands them so nicely on flat ground is because he jumps up, and tucks really hard. He gets his height from the jump, and the distance from the forward push of the tuck. But if I may add, if you're not flipping on flat ground I'd recommend jumping more out than up, so you can distance yourself from whatever you're jumping from.
The fronttuck he does with one foot towards the end is called a webster

dude i landed on my neck it fucking hurts
Grexoverhead 10 months ago
Can anyone tell me which is easier to learn, the one foot running take off or the two foot punch version.
The way I see it, the one foot take off seems better when stepping up onto an elevated obstacle, like in the video.
The two foot version is better when jumping forward, like over a gap, in a more horizontal movement.
