Great clip! My late Mother loved this song...she and her 2 sisters (sadly, all have died) were huge Deanna fans, and in fact one sister was briefly the head of a Deanna Durbin club...not sure where though, Oregon or California (they moved to Cali in the mid 40's) even have a photo of her meeting with Deanna on the set of a movie!
I didn't really know much about her til last few yrs
before my Dad passed away and he told me that when he was doing his Basic Training in California back in the early 40's that he got to chaueffer her around in his Army Jeep on different occasions while she was making films. I'd sure like to be able to contact her and share this info with her..
If anybody wonders who was better, Durbin or Garland, this clip should remove all doubt. Deanna could sing anything. I doubt Judy could have sang opera like Deanna could though.
I enjoy the Deanna Durbin clips on YouTube, but this is notable for two reasons. She is singing a rather popular vein. She is also a real knockout, as a mature young woman. Showing no more than stockinged legs, she has a lot sex appeal.
Such an amazing singer and actress. I've thoroughly enjoyed every one of her films that I've seen. I wish she was more well known today... most people haven't heard of her.
I like your video clip and have rated it as awesome. Please check out my new clip of 1930's cigarette cards of Deanna Durbin, Bette Davis, Joan Crawford, Gary Cooper, Fred Astaire, Errol Flyn, Vivien Leigh, George Formby and Gracie Fields.
I love this lady's voice, she may not have been such agood actress, but boy could she sing.I love"Spring will be a little late this year".Anyone else have a favourite?I would love to be able to meet her and tell her how much joy she has given me through her songs over the years.
I think Deanna was a wonderful actress. A delightful commedienne: funny. warm, spontaneous and natural, and a subtle dramatic actress, who was given too few chances to show what she could really do in a dramatic role, but managed to do fine work in those she was given.

Deanna Durbin, like Jane Powell, created a genre all of her own. Such a shame DD retired so young.

I read somewhere that at Universal, for every seven dollars profit the studio made, one dollar was from Deanna alone.
