back in the 1960,s/ mid 70,s not every funny car had chrysler hemis. big block chevy were under lots of those funny,s===that BOUNTY HUNTER OUT OF YSPILANTI MI.WERE POWERED BY FORD,S RACING 427 HEMI.OLD SCHOOL I LOOKED AT MOST OF THEM IN THE PITS==MOST ALL OF THEM START TO RUN CHRYSLER HEMIS IN 80,S==FACT==
Memories ! Been to Indy every year since 1969. Remember these mid 70's Funny's very well. Recall Sush Matsubara was one mean lookin' SOB !! Hawaiian, I believe ? Those were days when cars were not left at the track over night. Took'em back to motel. Funny BLUE MAX story: Ray Beadle, after late night thrash, fires car and pulls under awning at front door of hotel out at Indpls. airport and does a burnout !!! Undoubtly, late night thrash included a few cold ones !
I hate to burst all you Chevy and Ford fans bubbles, both cars are using Chrysler Hemi engines. All you had to do was go in the Pit areas as I used to, years ago to see that ALL the funny cars used Chrysler Hemis. GM and Ford couldn't complete with their engines, in Top Fuel or Funny Car
I completely dig the look of Blue Max. Wicked ride, and Del Worsham knows how to bring it. Three cheers for the Checker Schuck's Kragen auto parts team for running that bad boy every chance they can grab. I hope someday I can check it out in person.
Awsome cars out of the past - still running strong. The owners/fans and spectators have even more passion for them now! Great race cars! Thanks for sharing the video.
The editing of this video is absolutely perfect! The music fits so well! Great job!
