I can remeber being a young boy and hearing this song on the radio. I would cry. Maybe that's a silly reaction by a young boy to a fictional tale but to this day I do think this is a wonderful song that grabs your imagination and exeplefies the spirit of the American song writer. Not too many musicians write music like this today. It's all about "I" instead of taking the listener on a journey.Thank you Mr. Murphey for writing and performing an amazing song.

You can tell how good a song is by the way the "house band" participates. In this example you can see that Paul and his band are doing their best. They obviously respect this song.
