stats do determine the damage but certain bosses or enemies are capped from absorbing to much damage. even if you use codes, the damage you delt will increase yet it will be capped to a certain extent.

Ok, serisously, I have a little question. I know that this strength/magic/Defense (I know that Defens is affected too) affects the Data fights, but is that it? Does it affect other battles too (I think Terra)?

And finally, does anyone know if it's actually the STATS or the DAMAGE that are capped (i.e. if it's the stats, equipping Combo Boost will deal more damage, but if it's the damage, it won't work)?

You get that with finishing off certain enemies, such as all the Data Organization, the Mushroom XIII, etc.

I could have sworn it was like this in the US version too though. Having strength over 80-90 stopped showing differences I thought, even if very slight. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

Don't forget that defense is also capped at 80. From there the only thing that can lower damage is dependent on your elemental defense and if your dealing with elemental damage. Marluxia's 3 circles for example still deals pretty good damage with defense at 80 but can be lowered by wearing Ribbons or anything that can increase darkness defense.

The stat cap applies to your stats, which apply to Sora, which means everything.

Never knew that before... So it's pretty much useless to use more stat boosts once it reaches 80 - unless you're trying to show off how much effort you put into the game(lol, 999).

Damage cap is around 80 and number cap is around 160-170.

yeah, i saw a video like this last week or so. a dude showed that level 1 in critical mode, you do the same damage to sephiroth as lvl 80.

actually, in KH2FM+ isn't not as hard to get the attribute boost items..it is annoying though..i can't kill saix as quick as apual can xD

Which means that the maximum STR and MAG stat required against Data battles is until 80. Any value more than 80 will still be considered as the damage for 80 no matter what value your stat is (81-infinity...) Without the items that give boosts(Power and Magic Boost), what is stat of your STR and MAG when you're lvl 99??

not just the data matches, any boss for that matter. I have 100 strength and Sephiroth takes the same amount of damage as when i had only 82 strength points.

Most people seem to think that this cap applies universally but I notice the diff between 100 and 120 when I'm farming for power boosts, let alone 79-170. I think he's trying to demonstrate that there's a damage cap for the Data bosses, not necessarily everything else.

but it's very possible that heightened atk still makes a diff when factoring in separate defense statistics of each enemy. Once you get up high enough, you'd kill everything in one hit/everything would receive exactly the same amount of damage every hit.

So then you usually use the "170 damage" abilities against vids with magic restrctions,and the same goes for your TA vids where you use bond of flames/final form/Firaga/"170 magic damage" abilities. This vid is very interesting!^^ PLUS the fact that your data fights are "No Damage" because you can die easily by your oponent's combo.(without once more ability) [5/5]!!!
