Hey, I've been to his house years back and his parents and him lived on Granville street, in West Vancouver. I know he used to smoke and has a gf in Canada. They broke up after he established his career in HK. I guess that is typical actor style. New country, new love, lol! His english is not fluent as should be becuz both his parents speaks cantonese most of the time and since he is in contact with Chinese all these years, he might lose some of the english vob. Who cares if he speaks english

Oh my god Nic's english has severely deteriorated. He sounded more fluent in the past. Watch his Gen X Cops interview or an interview he did for a Japanese variety show a couple of years ago. You cant blame him though. He has been based in the mainland for these couple of years which means he hardly has any chance to speak English... Still I do expect more of him. He now speaks haltingly, almost rumaging through his mind to string a sentence together. I would put him at secondary school level.

I am very surprised that Nicholas's English is not as perfect as I thought. I read that Nicholas and Edison both had been sent to Canada and being classmates for several years. I was rather surprise how good his English was. Not every Chinese abroad is fluent in English, even some of the ABCs aren't; It really depends on the crowd that one hangs out with. But as a regular HK citizen, his English is above average.
