  • where is the Porsche 911 Turbo @ this test?????????

  • think about the psychological factor of it. Yes yes the evora has a toyota engine and not the best transmission, however its probably the most engaging to drive. ever heard the term "drive it like you stole it?" im positive the team fell in love with the evora because its a simple car with manual transmission without the worry of breaking delicate and expensive bits.

  • I cannot wait until we see some turners play with the Evora. They need to squeeze about 450+hp out of it and see what it can do.

  • what about porsche cayman, I heard they are pretty close

  • That Lambo Murc looks awesome powering through the turns with it's 4wd! Also, good for Lotus! It's been awhile since that Lotus Esprit! bleh

    Peace

  • Well Done Lotus :D bout time we done somin good - and too all you haters out there....growup - power isnt everything! :)

  • it doesn't matter..i'd still take the audi r8 no matter what..lotus is just too small for me..

  • Lotus is to slow tough? Slow cars handle better DUH!

  • ok guys its a fantastic car.But its also the only British car in the test, judged by British jurnalists!!So its a ..bit biased..

  • exactly!!!!

  • This is a massive achievment for Lotus and more is to come.

I love the Lotus Evora and would certainly own one.

Anyone who doesnt like this car is obviously turning a blind eye to the fact that every car journalist who has driven it thinks its superb.

  • No Mitsubishi Evo and Subaru Impreza ?

    Lotus is nice.

  • Lol, why is everybody hating the evora?, because it beat cars costing between 2x and 6x times as much?

there are LOADS of cars which are more rewarding to drive than supercars and are less than half the price.

And Im not talking about ricers either. Caterhams, Airiel atoms, rally spec cars (proper rally cars), track set up road cars..etc

  • i think people hate the lotus evora because it is a car from lotus that actually has some luxuries rather than being strip out and hardcore like the exige and elise. Or maybe it is because it uses the v6 from a toyota camry

Me personally i like the evora and i love how sleek it look even though it has some flaws like lack of power it still has lotus's trademark of amazing grip and control

  • Once the tuner scene hits it, it's gonna be a monster.

  • Add my Xbox live name: Ragmuff jogah

  • No ZR-1...

  • i think i saw Nissan 370Z between Clio and Focus 0:32, is it?

  • Correct ;) Thanks for the tip.

  • who would of thought a car company owned by proton with an engine of a toyota camry could be the best handling car in britian!!

  • does engine have anything to do with handling? no. Lotus at least competed in F1 before and famous for making great handling cars. They are THE company who make handling chassis for others like Honda NSX and Nissan GTR.

The evora has something like 2-3 times more body regidity than the exige, which is perfect handling already.

Yes it's a suprise but not that suprised. So all you guys saying,"oh autocar is biased!" This is a Handling test. 600hp doesn't say anything about it. Children

  • wow somebody actually realised this video was not about power 0-60 stopping distances etc etc, this video is purely about the best "Drivers Car" you can buy. Well done sir.

  • Aren't we stimulating the domestic economy !!!

    GT-R please

  • Wheres the M3?

  • this is as good as it's ever gonna be ever agian

  • lol why didnt u use non-UK judges? bloody patriots.. lol evora over the murcielago.. sure, even small kids wont believe that lie omfg

  • Evora is "nicer" to drive on the real world but who cares? Supercars are for madness and I'd take the SV anyday, even though the rear visibility is...pityful

  • yeah I know.. but again, its overkill to rate it better over the GT3, murcielago, R35, DB9 and R8. you can see it miles away

  • not really, on looks alone, yes i agree with you. But more rewarding to drive? I doubt it

Caterhams cost only £30k yet look dull BUT is more fun and rewarding to drive. And in most cases faster around the track.

my brother drove a rally spec Subaru Impreza and he said it was FAR more fun to drive than the Ferrari 360 he drove

  • yes I agree. but considering to drive these car as everyday cars, you wont get on limits of any of these cars. if you want to look cool or just show off in the city, the lambo is of course the real stuff, and on the highway if u want to show off there, lambo again, I doubt this elise will reach 330km/h. and the next thing? the track, the best thing there is a car built for the track, which you can find for 30 000 pounds at start price. so the lotus fails on every 3 of these things.

  • is it "nicer" than the r8?

  • LP560-4 (which is not here) is nicer than R8 and the LP670-4SV is much more sick so yes it is

  • you stated the evora is nicer to drive on real roads, not nicest handling car. So my question is it nicer than the r8 which is an lp560-4 for everday use.

The murcielago was not a great handling car when it was first launched, tweaking the chassis and adding a big spoiler to it can only do so much.

  • It does do so much and -100kg is a lot. I don't know and I never said Evora is not the nicest handling car, just SV is the nicest here

  • LMAO ! xD

    So true

  • if they are biased towards British cars they wouldn't have picked GTR last year and Audi R8 the year before. Biased? please....

  • learn to read "best handling car of 2009"

If you knew anything about the Murcie, then you'd know that handling it isnt one of its strong points.
