@hardyz703 To fly you have to move dodo's nose down to gain speed. Never move it up or you will fall. Tilt your nose down regularly to maintain speed enough not to fall.

that was just a rumor, this is straight off their website -Because we were making a driving and shooting game - even that, as a combination of core gameplay elements, was very, very radical at the time. The Dodo was never meant to be flown very much at all, and it certainly wasn’t grounded as a result of 9/11 – it was just a fun thing that people then went crazy with when they figured out various bugs that let them fly it!

Going further west of the ghost town, take a look at your radar, you will see that there are place names on the radar! What are these places? Who knows?

There are a number of theories but the most likely, is that it is the names of the map makers.

An interesting feature though. Maybe the game originally had 4 areas planned but never came about?

if you get a tank, put in the car jump cheat and turn the turrett behind you can fly for miles. if you go far enough into the ocean, you can see messages on the radar written by some of the game makers. think it was there names.

It kinda sucks because when I first bought the game back in 01, I was really excited to unlock shoreside vale just to cause mayhem over the city on an airplane! But it felt like rockstar dumped a bucket of diarrhea on my face when the planes on francis int. where just huge sock puppets just sitting there that you can't even go into. 'Ghost Town' is just a little colour area situated behind Upstate in Shoreside Vale. That's the reason why it's unsolid. It isn't the place where the cutscene took place, it is probably a flip image of the cutscene. You were probably able to go over there at the start.

Getting to Ghost Town for the first via the Dodo was so cool. I've had GTAIII since 2001 but I only mastered the Dodo in 2009 but since mastering it, the Dodo is my favourite GTA vehicle out of all the games. I just love flying over Liberty City and seeing the roads and landmarks I know so well, but from above.

I can get it to fly without bobbing up and down and I can do tight, evasive cornering. It's hard to believe that it was once so difficult to get into the air. Just takes technique.

@fireman6710, if you are playing on the playstation two and you want to fly a tank, first make one by using the cheat, "Circle, Circle, Circle, Circle, Circle, Circle, R1, L2, L1, Triangle, Circle, Triangle" then use the cheat flying cars "Right, R2, O, R1, L2, Down, L1, R1". Turn the turret backwards, and fire wile driving forwards to get and maintain enough speed to fly. Two things to note, all cars can fly but the tank is the best, and I have heard if you use cheats you can't get 100%.
