This is really interesting, but as an old-school player, you have to name each card that's played, especially by the opponent, so I can look them up. Otherwise, with the video resolution they're unreadable.
How does playing a turn 1 Arc-Slogger win you the game? You attack for 4.. Then remove the top 10 cards 6 times to deal 12. 16 damage doesn't win the game.. I'm just confused. How do you even get enough mana to activate the ability 6 times? =/
thx for the breakdown and update on how the deck has changed since shadowmore. for mirror the jitte's come in for the blood moons? seems critical that you get down the blood moon before elfball gets rolling too. is that right?
I generally play Snow-Covered basic lands on MTGO because they sort more quickly. I type "snow-c" and then all my basics come up (especially if I am playing multiple types of basic lands) whereas if I type "Forest" then Blanchwood Armor, Brawn, &c. have to be waded through in order to get to the lands I want, which inevitably have many different art types.
No real need for Snow-covered in this deck, strategically.
I love this deck, will be my main choice. Now off to get the cards. Does it matter if the lands are snow-covered? Or am I missing somthing crucial here?
Tested this deck, it is about 9-2 or so on MWS (against actually competitive decks) but have found moon guys not to be useful in any actual game, maybe I was just playing wrong. Well, I suppose against zoo they make your guys indestructable, (tribal flames is annoying. 8 sees kinda excessive though, and you often have to waste rituals on them. Also I've found that in many games lava spike would have won me the game after my guys died.
well you beat for 4 then you can for 1 red and the top 10 cards of library deal 2 damage
20 lets say you get out a turn 2 slogger, you hit opponent for 4 taking them to 16, next turn you proly hit once more 12 now your opponent is well with in your burn range deal just 4 more damage and you have sealed the game.
I think Arc-Slogger realy deserve a spot in this deck, maybe a split 2/2 with empty the warren, while manamorphose is nice to pump the storm count he doesn't do anything else.
Oh also just by speaking of big red you got my subscription ;)
You might be right about Manamorphose. However I don't think this deck can really exploit the power of the Arc-Slogger (you know I love that man). Or at least the Shadowmoor guys are more explosive.
Can't find the other videos of this deck. Are they out yet?

What are the mana-fixers? I can see Rite of Flame, Seething song, Manamorphose and the Moxen, but what's the other one?

so what kind of sideboard would this deck need?
starwarsmaniac93 3 years ago
The most important sideboard card has been the other two copies of Empty the Warrens.
I have been playing Firespout against Zoo and Shattering Spree against Affinity and have had great records against both decks.
I think with the rise of Elves you want Slice and Dice.
Jitte for the mirror.

so why no trinisphere in the board? or even main to help with matchups like TEPS and afinity...?

Unless we get our favorite card Skred in there!
dar482 3 years ago
The problem is this deck often has no lands at all... maybe one, not enough to make Skred reliable.

NOOB QUESTION from a guy who has only been playing a year and has never tried extended:
How do you win with Arc-Slogger? I'm definitely missing something about that card, something important...

Next Level Blue was my choice in the ext season can you make an update on that deck?

No Divining Top! :(

Great stuff Mike! What do you think of the maindeck Jitte's popping up in some lists? And any thoughts on sideboard?
elmer0mer0 3 years ago
They are certainly awesome in the mirror. I don't think they are fundamentally that strong in this strategy.

That was pretty crazy. Turn two or three blood moon is almost always gg.

That was actually my second choice for still image. i changed it at the last minute believe it or not.

I really enjoyed this deck. Against decks like tron turn 1 deus on the play can draw consessions immedietly if they don't have an answer.

It always seems to do something crazy. I really liked playing it :)
