The moral of this video is that instead of buying this glove thing, just get a dish with handles on the side, I mean, that's what happens in the video.
These are the greatest things ever they really are....right up until you realize the glove absorbed a boiling hot liquid. Then you get to burn both hands trying to get the glove off. I know the new one is steam proof but they really need to be waterproof too
Forget the ability to pick up hot objects without burning yourself, I'm more interested in the Ove Glove's magical skill that allows you to lift a metal tray (complete with a chicken and vegetable dinner) one-handed. I mean, it seemed like this person only had one Ove Glove on, and the tray is obviously too hot for a regular oven mitt to hold, let alone a human hand, so obviously the Ove Glove can strengthen a person's hand strength.
I got a set of these for my mom a few years ago. According to her, it works pretty good (though she doesn't throw lasagna on the floor like an animal).
Notice that she drops it the first time, this was not because she is using an inferior glove, but because she used one hand instead of two.
When they show the Ove glove version, the scene abruptly ends before she even slightly picks it up! Why? Because the result would have been the same, you need to use TWO HANDS.
I got an ove glove for christmas. I really like it but I normally wouldn't have bought it for myself because it's expensive and you can practically do the same thing with normal oven mits. It's great for most things but sometimes things from the grill are still too hot to pick up.
The Ove-Glove is a single glove that costs three times more than a pair of old-school oven mitts. It can't be laundered, and it'll stain permanently if you get grease (like from barbecuing) on it.
But wait, there's more! It won't fit most men's hands *and* it's stiff and unwieldy!
Now what would you pay for this overpriced, inconvenient, unwashable product?
You can use it to stir the fire from three feet away using a fire poker. Because gods know you couldn't use a tool designed to work with a fireplace safely without another tool.
Actually any decent work glove should let you stir that kind of coals by hand, they don't conduct heat very well. This is like an anti-add.
I guess that the actress couldnt act incompetantly enough (i.e. she kept trying to make it look like a realistic accident, which isnt what these advertisers want.)
Watch out! That hot dish can slip causing a big mess! You need the Ove Glove. Now with non-slip silicon grips! For great protection and control from the oven to the stove. It's made from the same flame resistant material used by firefighters. Nomex & Kevlar by DuPont. This tough material resists in tense heat up to 540 degress. The Ove Glove is perfect for the barbeque or hot jobs around the house, even arranging logs in the fireplace. The Ove Glove! Now with non-slip silicon grips!
Wait, if the cookies are too hot to carry, why do the kids immediately pick them up and eat them?

@MsManhattanSky Because that bulb was waaay too hot for his lamp, of course.

....and here I'd been turning lamps OFF before changing the light bulbs.

Likely not the best Christmas gift for newlyweds.... And if so at least buy a set!

Oh my goodness, my father-in-law has like three of these. It works fine, but I wouldn't say it's much better than a regular oven mitt.

She hurled that lasagna at the floor.

It may just be me, but aren't you supposed to turn said light off before you unscrew it? Something about electricity and gnome magic?

I'm just here for the tropes.

Who the hell would be screwing in a light bulb while the bloody thing is turned on
These adverts all seem to represent the general public as stupid buggers

I use the ov glove to pump off. Works great!
Piritu 1 year ago
@Piritu wouldnt the non slip grips cause extreme discomfort?
bassmzero 1 year ago
Wait a minute...couldn't you just turn the light off and give it a bit to cool down before removing it? Then you wouldn't need this stupid-ass glove.

@therealkraas
hell, why would you be removing a working bulb in the first place?

Or you could use two hands to pick up the food from the oven.

Do you purposely throw hot meals at the ground to promote random yet simple products? Then you need the the Ove Glove!

No it cannot withstand 570 degrees Fahrenheit. It can withstand a crappy flame animation with the number 570 over it
NalydMerc 2 years ago 24
@NalydMerc 540°, but I'm pretty sure all animations are the same temperature.

People who are too clumsy to use regular oven mitt shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a kitchen in the first place.
Iowamutt 2 years ago
I own it, it is stiff, and you need TINY fingers to get into it, not as big as it looks
