I watched this movie and was extremely disappointed. They only showed the bad side of things. They only showed the fisheries that are on the brink. At the very end they mentioned Alaska and how they are a model in fisheries management, but only spent a couple of minutes on it. People need to stay well informed. I am an Alaskan commercial fisherman, and Iam proud to feed the world through sustainable fisheries!

@Alaskrab There is only a bad side of things when we don't take care of the dark side of what is happening. Most people make light of life, but there is no light at the end of this tunnel except to stop eating fish and let them repopulate. Maybe then we can look into sustainable fishing, but not until the oceans are teaming with so many fish that they are spilling out of the ocean...maybe...

It requires three times the poundage of wild fish to raise for consumption, not mention the potential of spreading disease to wild fish. It can be unhealthy also. recreational fisherman have noticed a decline in manhaden due to foriegn fishing ships who are netting up all the food of larger fish. manhaden(baitfish) also clean waters around the bays and sounds.

First of all fish as resource can ran out if we abuse them to their extinction, but ...

dont forget that we havent explored 95% of sea in wich case we can find new species.

Also if we are going to maintain this level of abusing fish, they will adapt and and either evolve or die, thats how is going in nature.

Its simply to foolish for me to waste time trying to grasp. Fish are a resource, and though it is abused, we can't run out of fish. They are bred in major fish farms, to the point where some are being OVER-populated. So what the fish are out of the sea? We still have fish.

I disagree. SOME fish species are over-populated, but many arent. Crabs for example. They will not last forever. Not to mention MANY MANY other species.

And? FISH in general will NEVER run out as a resource. We are very well prepared for fish to run out of the sea. Although the quality is worse than fresh fish from the sea, its still aside from the point that as long as we TRY, we really can't every run out of fish.
