Kaboom is not really compatible with ipods. You can charge it but you cannot play your ipods on it. You will get a message on your ipod that says it does not support this accessory. If you want to share your tunes with others then get a better system. JVCAmerica should knows this. He's just selling the product.
I hate Ipods. I love my massive collection of MP3 files. I don't buy CD's any longer as they are enormous, awkward, easily damaged and messy. Are manufacturers ever going to catch up?
Obviously - The CEO of JVC & Steve Jobs must be sleeping together! I guess if you have an MP3 device, or an android device - JVC doesn't want your business. There motto should be: "If your too cheap to buy an Apple product, JVC is not for you" !!! Do the Marketing people at JVC realize that Apple only has like 40% market share? The leaves 60% of the population that you don't have a product to fit their needs? The makes good business sense - How ???

I don't have an iPod. I don't need one as I already own an MP3 player. I want a Kaboom, but it has to have an AUX line-in for my player. It also has to be super loud for cheering practice. Also, I hear the old versions were much louder than the new ones?
I don't know how it is in the states but here in Sweden/Finland/Denmark people are buying the "good old jvc" NV-B70? just because of the reason it has an AUX-input. People want to connect their iPhones through the aux. This is because you want to use the phone/scroll the playlists and actually be able to move the thing around both upright on the back and not be so supergentle with it..
@MrCarrazzia001 Not that easy if you don't want to spend a shitload of money, they go for 300++ euros on ebay these days. Had to spend way too much time to find a good one at a decent price...
We think that our new Kaboom plays plenty loud, and doubt that you'd be disappointed. Just an FYI -- we have a new model for 2011. Check out the video here on our YouTube channel called "JVC At CES 2011 -- New Portable & Car Audio".
the comments seem to be proving my worst fear and that is that this new kaboom box is not as great as the previous models. the only thing that prevents me from buying the new model is that fugly ipod dock. its 2010 but i would rather have a cassette deck and a aux input like my RV-DP100 because not everyone has an ipod. and being able to plug different instruments and devices is way better than being stuck with a dock that is going to be useless when the new ipod comes out.
@stolendrugs I agree with all of your points... take good care of your dp100 and it'll serve you for years to come, it's a wonderful machine! Just got myself an NB-10, it was really hard to get hold of one at a decent price
Too bad the new Boomblaster can't hold a candle to the 'old school' (rv-b90, rv-nb1) series. And to be honest: leaving out the AUX jack = ultimate fail. Not everyone has one of those iCrap players.
@zootella Please contact JVC Canada at jvc.ca -- this is JVC U.S.A's YouTube channel. The JVC Canada website has a dealer locator as well as information about how to contact JVC in Canada for more assistance.
I owned the JVC RV-NB 10 and I now own the JVC RV-NB 50 and can honestly say the new system is just as good. The new Kaboom is not cheap, nor does it sound cheap. Anyone else that says otherwise obviously never owned the other Kabooms.
@sdsd331 Have my kaboom connected aux to my computer, i have the bass on 3 and sound setting on clear, it sounds so amazing, then when i want to shake my house i put bass on 6 :D it sounds like a component system, i love it so much!!!!!, im not to up on models but i have the old grey and black model.
3rd generation boombox my ass... that thing looks like the 1st generation version from jvc only now with ipod dockingstation... Even lamer is that this 3rd generation boombox has 20watt less then the 1st AND 2nd generation boombox... its just a crappy radio with ipod ability ffs... The 2nd generation (JVC RD HA3B) is an awesome boombox but carrying the boombox is a bit awkward - could do with a carrying handle/strap. Why they didn't make that boombox more mobile is for me a mystery.........
ok so this new kaboom you show here. i have seen one taken apart. all i can say it wow what a complete let down. i mean its not even as good as its older siblings. i know jvc was sold back in 2007 but is this really the best you guys could come up with. its pretty weak i mean the amp chip is a cheap buck a chip five watt per channel at 12 vdc chip. thats pretty sad. i mean its really too bad you guys have decided to bring this ipod dock out and call it a kaboom.
i think alot of the made for ipod stuff that has already come and gone has left a real bitter taste in peoples mouths. i mean once apple brings out new designs and they do very ofter it renders the old ones obsolete. i mean i am all for a dock of some sort but i dont think thats been resolved properly yet. also i think the memory card slot on this box is poorly designed tho. i do agree tho if they brought out a big square loud boombox i would be all over it tooo.
I've been a fan of the Kaboom since it first came out, I currently own the RV-B55 and the RV-NB20B and love them both. I also own many classic 70's and 80's boxes that are fantastic examples of their time. That was 30 years ago but as Lasonic has already proven the classic box design has not died. There is nothing wrong with combining old form with new function just look at the current Mustang, Challenger and Camaro. JVC please reproduce a modern M90 or M70 you have many customers waiting.
The new Kaboom reminds me of a Ford Taurus. JVC found a design that sold, so they can't think of anything else to do. It's been more than 10 years since Kabooms were released. Why not be really bold and release a true "old school" style boombox? Hell, Lasonic is already doing it and making money hand over fist. I'm sorry to say, but JVC has become complacent.
its pretty cool but a lot of people were hoping in the boombox dept you guys were going to maybe give us something a little more retro.i got three kabooms but i notice this new one is lower power output than the ones i already own.
i belong to a forum called boomboxery and we all collect boomboxes. we had been hoping for new version of a m90 or m70. we had our fingers crossed for a retro styled box shaped portable stereo. theres a lot of older guys who would love to buy a old school styled box
pretty sad for a system that has a picture of the ipod touch on the box you buy it in.

I might even get an iPod if JVC made a retro old skool boombox.
