@Opiate4theMasses It MAY have been because he cant pull of vocally what he could in the past. I only say this as he has stated in interviews last year that he can't do what he use to do and live he has to compensate for that. Or it could have been as you said simply a mic problem. Although singing like he does takes a toll on the vocal chords and many singers of metal/ hard rock have vocal deterioration over the years. I saw tool play in 2000 and his voice was simply perfect!
