The British Foreign & Commonwealth Office advises againsts all travel to only two countries in Africa: Somalia and Cote d'Ivoire. Crime is a serious problem in Abidjan and sometimes there are violent street protests in many areas. The bridges between Treichville and Le Plateau have long been notorious for theft, so I wouldn't recommend walking over them, day or night. (cont)
