  • Nice job with the tweaks. There are a lot of clueless synth users on YouTube.

  • i got a MG-1 myself, but it need some work.. wish u were living nextdoor to me :)

  • I'd guess the mods involve perhaps replacing the US transformer with UK transformer with proper earthing perhaps, improving grounding connections, replacing or fixing power supply rectifiers and heat sinks, replacing audio sockets with proper grounded shielded wires, cleaning all pots and sliders with contact cleaner. And removing all the old foam goo inside. Just a guess.

  • What should the Keyboard Glide slider do? I can't get it working on my MG-1.

  • what are these mods you keep talking about??? i would LOVE to know... get my gear guy to do the same... thanks

  • I find it saddening that no one noodles Emerson Lake and Palmer in these :-/

  • --------------DO WANT

  • great nickname :)!

  • Where the fuck do you get one of these?

  • please can you help me or at least put on here a description of what you had to do or did to get it to sound this good !!!I would appreciate it so much!

  • @unferoathlover I've made a few mods to increase the audio quality , but the sounds that you hear on the demo is just what you can get with this synth :)

  • I can't believe how bloody got this little thing sounds. Fantastic.

  • Hey Thalassa awesome sounding demo. Kinda off topic here, but how did you get the mg-1 to sound so crystal clear. most ive heard has that dreaded hissss sound. Yours sounds very good. Is it because of outboard gear (fx, compressor/limiter/gate rack, etc)? cheers

  • @mastertrev Thanks , this synth is a little beast :) . The demo was made after a restoration process where I've made modifications to get better signal/noise ratio. It's great that you notice that.

  • this synth sounds awesome

  • amusing.. so that's the organ sound. so If I buy one of these, I won't be stuck in complete monophony.

  • My first synth...there's a virtual version out now.

  • is it possible to plug a sustain pedal or some sort of constant voltage into the trigger input to create full sustain for the poly and mono sections even after the keys are released? i know the poly section closes right as soon as you release te keys but im trying to see if there is a way around this.

  • Thanks so much for this great demo

  • How hard was it to do the restore job on this unit? Also, did you have to replace any of the ICs? Which ones did you use if you did? If you got a site you used to help out, I'd appreciate any help.

  • I'm curious to how they executed the polyphony on this... and why they seem to not be interested in making a polyphonic Moog nowadays?

  • great, i may be getting one of these soon, so watching a lot of these demos...i like how you use the filter a lot more than most people seem to....for me filters on monosynths seem to help produce the more musical, voicelike sounds they are capable of.

  • @mstern18 : did you get one?

  • @ironchimpo not yet unfortunately....it's pretty close to the top of my list when i have the money for it....such is the life of a student...........why do you ask?

  • I read somewhere that the polyphonic section goes through the filter, but not the ADSR or the LFO. Have you modded yours to go through the LFO or was it just that way as standard? And is the polyphonic section routed through the ADSR?

  • You are right , the polyphonic section goes only trough the filter. On the video the LFO ( random mode / wave ) is modulating the filter cut-off. The polyphonic section is only affected by the filter ( but you can modulate the filter with the envelope, LFO, ... ) .Envelope hasn't effect on the polyphonic section but this don't mean that you can't use it to modulate the filter.

  • Hey thanks for the reply, that makes total sense. It's a shame the poly section doesn't go through the LFO and ADSR, would have been fun! I think I just like cheesy square wave organs too much!

  • For me the main problem is that you can't use the lfo to get vibrato effect that will be very useful for organ sounds. I don't have problem with the lack of modulation by the envelope, because the polyphonic section it's just an organ section , so it has the typical organ behaviour, on / off envelope

  • by the way, there is a way to mod the synth to get LFO modulation on the polyphonic section but I don't know if I will make this modification on mine.

  • I wish I had one EPIC SOUNDS!

  • nice sound, the delay/reverb helps

  • I should have never sold mine, I love these.

  • very nice Sound...!
