i liked because you detail the parts, some people sure takes lessons, and pays for thata, some other like me are self taught,so,thank you so much, witout this video it would take me more time to learn this piece
DOCTORNERVE! your my only hope! you did a really great job transcribing this intro but another song I really love by sabbath is one titled "early one morning" it can be found here on youtube. It sounds great! It sounds like an easy scale and its classic sounding sabbath! what you think of it?
@doctornerve haha i suppose so. It doesnt sound as hard as one would think though. Currently im guitarless so i can't play. I just ordered a pair of jaydee "old boy" pickups and I have a sg special body comming in sometime next week. real excited to get everything put togeher. have to wait 3 months for the pickups though O_O
@Jim5150jvc He had a P-90 in the bridge position with a metal cover built by John Birch. He had a John Birch Superflux in the neck position (9 pole pickup also with metal cover). Do Google Images search on superflux iommi and you'll see some closeup photos I took of his guitar, currently on display at Hard Rock Cafe NYC
Did you find this song hard to figure out because of Tony's Rangemaster treble booster? It adds harmonics that make the guitar sound unique and full. Superb Job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
is there any tab? i would love one please, is a litlle strange that iommi only played that once in that concert but i just love that piece please i want tabs!!
@BoxenstienMusic I love the Kolbe 1x12. The response is phenomenal. It's an integrated system in that Harry built the cab according to the acoustics of the EV12L speaker. The whole cab's construction is tuned to the response of the speaker itself. He also builds a 4x12
@doctornerve Yeah, It is for me too. I understand. well, maybe one day you can when you have some free time. I'd love to see you post some covers of you playing man, I always enjoy your vids.
OMFG! i just can't believe that you make this lesson, i don't know if this because a post that i make a lot months ago in one of your videos, but still is freaking awesome, i really can't wait to learn this intro and play it until my fingers bleed XD
just love ur videos they're all so easy to learn from :)
Oh yea will War Pigs solos be up anytime soon? thats the first song i learnt and i really wanna noe how to play the solos for it...there r no accurate tabs or videos online so im really looking forward to it :)
@SlackBabbathTs - I'm running a night train through an Egnater 2x12 tourmaster cabinet. The Egnater is an oversized birch cab with celestion speakers that feature a removable rear panel which allows for an open/closed back option.
Lol, I'm not even a guitarist...I'm a drummer. However, this intro is been one my favorite things Tony has done. It's just so dang dark and creepy, but in a mellow way. I'm gonna pull out the crappy squire and practice this till I get it. Thanks for posting this...I've been wanting tabs for a while.
doctornerve- do you know how long I've been looking for this tab? Thank you so much. You're doing a lot of people a big favor and I hope to see more videos from you in the future!
@C4mpst4ff thanks. Certainly this was a labor of love. I don't expect lots of views, but the folks who do find their way to this video seem pretty pumped about it, which feels great.
@jovima69 cut yourself some slack! Chances are it wasn't there when you first asked (ie, the interval during which the owner was mulling over whether or not to accept my video response request)
Thanks right back, to you and everyone else here. I think this is probably going to have less views than my other Sabbath stuff, but the people who are into this Paris Intro are REALLY into it. Smaller numbers but more intensity.
thx man, again a brilliant lesson, thx for teaching us some of what the best band in the world (Black Sabbath) once did, hey i got this show video on my computer, it can be downloaded on pirate bay.
vERY CULT lesson! , Loved it

This is amazing, how long did it take for you to transcribe?
I wonder, can you play the solos from 'Dirty Women' Hammersmith '78,
I would absolutely love to learn to play that.

So at the time of the Paris concert, Tony was using an SG with stock single-coil P-90 pickups in both the bridge and neck positions?
