  • Yea , I too have this one and it will not suck the tone out on bypass like Boss .

  • I got mine yesterday too! \m/ I will raise hell with my Seymour Duncan Mick Thomson's Blackouts!

  • for years i believed boss metal zone or boss metal core are the best high gain distortion pedal available but now, i wanna have this one...no doubt...

  • I love this pedal....I run it through my Marshall on low distortion...WOOOOW... What a BEAST of a pedal... Killer Marshall Distortion kicked up a notch..... Sound great with a band....

  • Yea, I've finally bought it yesterday! \m/

  • This pedal destroys the Boss MT2 into pieces.

  • what a cute pedal...

UNTIL YOU PLUG IT IN AND ENGAGE IT

  • Wait wait,

The Distortion is only half way???No way man, i'm getting this!!

  • @Haddockxyz300

I have it. It has a nice range of distortion; from old Judas/Maiden to Slipknot. If you put it on 9 o'clock you will get old school metal, brutal enough to sound metal, but clear enough to play chords without sounding muddy.

It really sounds great. Don't be mislead by lack of tone controls, it is just perfect!

  • 1:45 OMG

  • It sure doesn't sound small! O_o

  • i think a mid scoop sounds good on guitar but for bass a mid scoop is like cutting the balls off your instrument

  • HOLY SHIT THIS PEDAL IS AWSOME !!!!! O.O

  • this pedal sounds really amazing, sick metal sound.

  • I think this sounds way better then the Micro muff

  • Hehe the way you said input, output, onoff switch..... sounded like you could make a song out of it,... input, output, onoff switch input, output, onoff switch lol

  • ........and this is the small version?

  • that amp sounds so nice clean but with this little beast... 0,0

  • i see many of ur vids, and most are great but i think you made a very misleading fact, you said that scooped helps cuts through the mix and sounds great. its my experience that scooped mids are horrible fro cutting into the mix, or in a band. however i wont argue that "scooped" dont sound great. i have this pedal its the most organic sounding metal pedal i have ever tried. compared to the boss mt-2 and the digitech tl-2 or mxr fullbore. this one rocks. the micro is cool to.

  • @EMGlespaulMESA Yuppers you need those mids to cut through, haha.

  • its pretty cheap at guitar center 60$

  • this sound like the eye of the beholder metallica's song!!! good sound!!

  • Great sound and good demo over all, but it would be nice if Dave would show the Distortion range on this thing or on the Micro Metal. In both vids, he never touches the distortion knob. Makes me a little suspect that that is where it has to stay. He is a fun demo guy though! Makes me want one and I don't even play metal!!

  • everything sounds awsome in fender bassman.

  • Less Mid to cut better?

    Silly person.

  • this pedal is good for that but its best to get an amp with higain and a boost pedal.

  • Think I could use this as a volume booster to help me cut through the mix during solos? I just picked up the EHX Linear Power Booster 1 and it gives me a little more volume, but I'm thinking about returning it and swapping it for this one.

  • If you're looking for a solo boost, try the standard MM, this thing comes with footswitchable top boost and can create a really cutting sound, just dont hook it to an already overdriven or distorted amp ;-)

  • dang! for a pedal that small it you still gets the same kick as if u bought the micro, or big muff pedals. wow, i'm gettin' it [=

  • When he turned it on I almost had a heart attack!

  • I'm looking forward to get this pedal, and for all I've seen, it's just worth the try... I have an Epiphone Les Paul Special II, and a Beta Aivin 35 amp with a nice, smooth clean sound, and I was wondering if with my equipment I could pull off those amazing metal sounds with the Pocket Metal Muff...

  • anybody know the song he is playing when he puts the metal muff on?

  • what a beast of a pedal... eat your heart out Boss MT2

  • cranck on the distorcion for more volu.....distorcion hahah!!-

    Great video

  • Great review. In fact, this is probably the best review of a Metal Pedal. He goes from a great clean sound in the best Fender tradition to a really full but defined Metal sound. Awesome.

  • this vs the boss ds-1 pedal ive been thinking about both of these

  • this or the boss mt-2 for metal

  • what does it cost

  • bout 64 us dollar

  • Its not posting my first comment but trust me this pedal rocks

  • I use this pedal with my '05 esp stephen carpenter model. I had a seymour duncan invader pickup installed in the bridge and it is a beast. I dont even use my boss metal zone anymore. I play everything from zeppelin and van halen to avenged sevenfold and pantera. Hella great buy!

  • Just get the original, it's gonna give you a lot better options for tonal tweaking.

  • I own one and it sounds VERY metal. It also brings out the sound of your guitar with the distortion really low. I haven't played without it since I've gotten it

I wouldn't recommend using a cheap guitar with it. The pedal itself is pricey

I tested it with a friends Epiphone LP, my Washburn WG208, and my 87' Cort Performer Series. All of which are stock. They get the job done, but that petal is best suited for something with some nice Duncans or EMG's.

  • would have liked to hear some lead, but it realy sounded great

  • i doubt that will sound like that with my american deluxe tele and a fender hod rod deluxe

  • Holy shit this thing is heavy as hell

  • Drop C? I sure like this pedal

  • I actually think it's drop B because he keeps going back to the B power chords.

  • Dave Weiner plays pretty much exclusively 7-string guitars. So it's actually standard tuning.

  • sick sound.

  • I was very surprised! it' a great sound for metal!!!!
