@knpdyeballarice That is a Naval ship, yes. But the guys boarding are coasties. Only the coast guard has the authority to board vessels. The navy doesn't have the authority to board other vessels, so they bring coast guard law enforcement detachments with them to board vessels if needed.

I'm going to have to go with the hudson river rescue. The red river rescue is a good second, and the submarine medivac is third.

If I had to choose I would choose the rescue off of the submarine, always like to see the Navy beholding to the Coast Guard, 10+ years a Coastie's wife, USCG was always made to be a bastard cousin to the Navy.

Great video collection of 2009 CG SAR cases----I miss my days in the CG---I guess for voiting purposes--it might be the one that gets all the media attention and that of the public too--but I vote for the response to the ditching of the USAir flight in the Hudson last January.
