  • Great video. That thing sure is intimidating.

  • great vid mate but u forgot the most important feature - the wireless !

  • on site without your safety boots on, pushing your luck, no?

  • @King441 Nope, there was no boot requirement for operators as the only time they would be out of the machine is when it is parked. Mechanics were the only people that did any sort of lifting that would pose a foot hazard.

  • @vantagetes hmm fair enough then, different countries, different rules on site i guess, i just assumed like our workplaces, you have to have em on at all times, no matter who you are or what your doing, but each to thier own

  • started my early machine operating life in the central queensland coal industry on the old " differential steer " catipillar D8N's and D9L's over 20 years ago, catipillar equipment is just getting better and better.

finished my career on the the then new D9R and new D9T, excellent tractors to operate.

world of difference to the old D9G's and D9H's of my dad's time in the coal industry.

    " ain't nothing like a catipillar motor "

  • Great video.

  • Excellent video - I am an engineer and whenever I see those massive machines I wonder how is it to sit behind their wheel.

  • now.. i know how to jack on if the keys are left in. If i have to.

  • Now thats a bad ass monster !§§

  • long ass dipstick

  • Bet ya that light is still burnt out.

  • Thanks for sharing the video. One day I will have to play with a dozer.

  • It's been 20 YRS since i ran a D-6, LOOKS lik they've really simplified the controls these days.

  • For a second I thought that car was there to crush

  • lammmmmooooo!!

  • @6062ravi It's educational, and some people like heavy equipment. The people who really have no lives are the ones who have nothing better to do than post retarded comments bad mouthing random youtube videos. I feel sorry for you.

  • @6062ravi and people who can't even spell.

  • @6062ravi hey you fucking piece of shit just dont fucking look at it ass hole and shut your fucking mouth iam a buldozer operator and iam interested by this big dozer like many other people you dumbass

  • @6062ravi learn to spell man

  • My cousin has a gixxer, you the Suzuki Gixxer, if so what cc do you have

  • @THUND3R63 2008 GSX-R 750

  • i thought the 2 cylnders is twin tilt not a carry blade?

  • @bigfranco87 The twin cylinders will do both functions.

  • is that your car

  • @THUND3R63 It was one of my vehicles yes. Needed something for when it was too cold or wet to ride the gixxer. Now I have a work truck and a Jeep. (and the bike)

  • These are`nt to far from the new 10 N keys on the dash does this have the flouresent lights those are nice ,sucks that you have to lock out to blow the rad out with fan at least the one I was running did on a chip mill feeding 2 reclaims did it for 2 yrs with the older 9 n OMG what a differance no more levers this one has the 2 track brakes ours had a twist lever forward & backwards LOVE them .

  • @MrMrtiki Should of tried to convince them to invest in a reversible fan. You can get ones that run on a timer and switch directions automatically at pre-set intervals so it blows the debris back out.

  • @vantagetes they had 4 cat mechanics working on it they changed the clutch checked wiring sat in the shop for a week NO way would not go so I came into the shop for service on the 9N and I asked if I could try it later they said giver while they worked on the 9 I pulled out and locked out to fill my time sheet I tried the fan when the whole world went by me they come running out what did you do I told them just locked it out well Thank the boss I got a nice pay check after that find .

  • Funny, the 'foreman facing tracks' aren't too caked, could probably get away without a shovel...but walk around to the other side...

  • How did you get a job like that?

  • Nice...!

    Thanks-

  • cool video thanks for posting

  • might have a traineeship driving a D11 here in Australian. cant wait to get into it!

  • the back cylinder on the ripper is leaking just if you havent noticed

  • @arbitor55555able Actually it's not, the quick fill coupler for the diesel tank is. If you look closely you will see a hose running to a box with a round silver connector. The service truck has a quick coupler on the diesel gun they pop on there rather then having to haul a 3" hose full of fuel up the tracks and across the side of the dozer.

  • i cant wait for heavy equipment operating training next semester!!!

  • I should not have called him a dummy, sorry about that.but white smoke from the stack indicates cold fuel start.Sorry for the name calling, that was wrong.if it was a warm engine start the smoke should be black from the fuel, unless coolants getting into the cylinder.the newer cats pumps are cut back to reduce emissions & produce very little smoke.

  • @dozebud no problems, you didn't know. It wasn't fully warmed up yet but it ran for a couple min to get all the fluids circulating before shutting it back down and starting the video.

  • the only thing that bothers me is,,this guy should NEVER have run the RPMs up that soon.theres no oil up top DUMMY!!

  • @dozebud Before you start running your fat mouth maybe you should consider that the dozer was already idling for a few minutes before it was shut off and the video started. There's plenty of oil "up top".

    Thanks for watching!

  • @vantagetes Great vid, really interesting to see how you operate a Cat dozer, d'you run your own firm?

  • @The1234bubba Check out my video "D10 ARRRR saying hi"

  • that thing has a really long dip-stick

  • @MyanmesKenny19 You should see the Cat 773B haul trucks dipstick...

  • i would to drive one of those it would be fun.

  • Great video - I love inside the cab instruction clips.

  • Thank for sharing.Enjoyed the tour

  • very nice vid

  • A good operator..starts his cold start pre check..with a walk around...check hoses..undercarriage etc.Check all fluid levels... engine pre start oil level..then when running pre check running level..air filter indicator..fire extinguisher indicator...cleans track frame daily ... cleans all observation glass points..checks all alarms.

Then he does his plant running check after start up......via gauge indicator read out information ......similar to 747 pre start check up...lol

  • is that a series 2? i see the electric over controls and i was just wondering

  • @FUCKINROCKIT There is one on each side, if it's in dual mode as the one side goes up the other will go down. Now in single mode you can keep one side at the same level (say toe of slope) and change the other side to vary the slope.

  • @FUCKINROCKIT single/dual cylinder tilt and autostow the ripper (full up, shank in).

  • haha lol now your going to have punks in calgary starting them up and playing with them...thats where kidco operates isnt it?

  • @markdmy Ah but they still need keys! And yes.

  • @vantagetes lol about 4 buck at any cat dealer

  • Looks like one of the ripper's cylinder seals are weeping.

  • It's the quick attach we use to fill the diesel tank, the fitting is on the ripper so the service guys don't have to climb the tracks with a 3" hose.

  • were are you i want to workik with you my friend i am in montreal im veru nice driver

  • @alimcheik weirdo

  • In the Cat dozer what is the difference between R,N,K and T

  • looks like the seals in the head of one of the ripper cylinders is leaking pretty bad, bottem left if ur staring at the back end of the machine

  • Heh Mike so much for mr cat mechanic =p But I guess maybe Dexters doesn't run quickfills? If you look closely there is a square box with a round silver quick fill for diesel so the service guy doesn't have to haul his hose up to the cab. This one was worn out and leaked every time he connected/disconnect. That's where the leak is coming from. Good eyes none less! (Hey when you coming boarding anyways? Isaac is back on the 12th and I don't work weekends).

  • @rosesboneyard its the diesel filler

  • Heavy Metal,,,,,,can anybody say track spade.....

  • How many gallons of diesel to fill that dozer up?

  • Around 1200L or 320 U.S. gal.

  • wwo that dip stick is way too long lol

  • Another awesome video..i think i have watch all your stuff man!,can't wait for finish my last year of high school and go to the operator school...my dream is to work in a compagny like you, with all the big Cat machine!:)hahah

  • Thank you for using better than a cell phone camera for this video. One of the few machine videos that is actually watchable.

  • so is the deaccelerator like a clutch and brake combined?

  • The steering toogles on the left hand would be the cluctch/brake combo, the deaccelerator is exactly like an accelerator except reversed (you have to let it out to get more fuel). The reason being is that you spend a lot more time at full throttle.

  • however, i have not driven a D10, but i drove and started a D8R

  • i love this stuff, my grandfather works at a construction site and i get to drive this stuff to 5/5

  • better get the left ripper lift cylinder fixed it's leaking.

  • That's diesel not hydraulic. If you pause the video at 4:00 and look just up and to the right there is a hose going to a square box with a silver quick attach fuel fitting. Every now and then the fitting doesn't pop correctly so it drips down the ripper into the fuel guys overflow bucket. We use quick attaches on a lot of our machines to minimize how often the fuel guys have to climb up and down.

  • @maplemanz thats diesel

  • nice video very educational never got to play on a dozer just backhoes

  • i didnt think that dipstick was ever going to end lol

  • Very interesting, I'd love to get the chance to play with that CAT. The engine sounds good and VERY Powerful.

  • Powerful? Nah it's only pushing 580HP *Wink*

  • Can you tell us what engines you got in your machines when you do a vid e.g. 3508, 3412 etc.

Llike your vids, they are very interesting.

Last dozer I operated was a D9G when it was new (very long time ago!)

  • The 10R should have a 3412 HEUI, and the 385 Powerstripe has C18 ACERT.

  • I guess that means the C18 replaced the 3408 because they are the same size (18 liter). So does the C18 have a good reputation for reliability? And what about the 3400s (3408, 3412)?

  • The D9Ts have the C18 now, and the D10Ts have the C27. I haven't seen any Ts with engine problems yet. For the most part all the dozers I have seen (even in heavy use conditions) usually hour out before you have an engine malfunction. Of course once you start racking up high hours then you need to do some routine engine work, which usually just ends up being pull the engine and rebuild while its out, or swap.

  • Yeah, thanks for all the info. My own Cat 3408 has done over 5,000,000 kms or about 70,000 hours in 80 tonne road trains, which is quite heavy work, and it's on it's 3rd in-chassis rebuild. Never been out the frame and the crank & block are still in tolerance. Cat make good machines & engines.

  • @vantagetes

had a fair few c series engines from dozers that have quite bad valve recession.

  • looks like you got your new 385 back... got any more videos from the new office yet?

  • I have a couple already made Popcorn, should put the first one up in a day or two.

  • that was one hell of a good video. where is this at ?

  • Calgary, at the Spy Hill Landfill.

  • N for Awsome?

  • Don't mind Alex, he doesn't like it unless it's 40 years old, has no cab, and you have to turn wrenches to start the thing.

  • Great vid mate, like the startup vids awesome!

  • So you checked the hydraulic oil level but you neglected to check the electrolyte level in the flux capacitor? What kind of gong show is this? Haha

  • You're just mad they don't let you play with these anymore =p

  • Actually we have a 10N on site right now.

  • Ooo a "N" haha.

  • Yeah N.... N for Awesome

  • Another high quality clip!! Keep them coming man!! :)

  • nice

  • Great Video! I also always wanted to see such a video.

Hopefully we will see the same procedure on a Cat 385

  • If you go to my channel (click my name) I have a walk around video for both a 385 and a 345.

  • Did they change your 385?? There's a brand new one behind.

Great video as always, keep'em coming dude!

  • Yeah thats the new ride hiding in the back there. 385C L Powerstripe (same as in the Powerstripe Slope Work video).

  • what job site is this?

  • Spyhill Landfill, we are digging new cells/mining out the gravel.

  • 5***** + fav! awesome!!!!!

  • thats a long dip stick!

  • i know, right?

  • thanks a lot !!! i waiting this video during a long time and she is awesome!!!
