  • I used to drive an Omega. Someone pull right in front of me and I had to slam on the brakes. The Omega did a 360. I have many cars in the past and that was the only car that ever did that.

  • Wow! I think it is great that the Europeans love our old American cars so much!!! Not like us.... even "our" disgusting President wanted all the old American cars destroyed with his Cash for Clunkers-- I just think he hates and doesn't want anything American and/or white and Americans were stupid enough with their "incentives" to do that! Thanks! The car is a rare beauty!

  • @GayUOPXBoy10

    You're right,

I really don't understand why most the american people don't see anything in de old 80's sedans.

Cash for Clunkers was the biggest mistake ever made, shame on the people who selled their clunker for a tiny, soulles made, piece of plastic crap.

Old American cars are driving artworks, i love the crhome, the luxurious interiors and the nice chrome finished and detailed dashboards.

Take good care of your classics before it is too late!

  • @cruising4chicks If us stupid Americans hated those cars so much and had them clunked.... they should of sent those cars to Europe and giving to you guys and also the poorest nations because I know there are many poor nations in Eastern Europe and the people would be so grateful to have those "clunkers!" Enjoy the Omega... they are cuties!

  • @jakesaintsrow123 Very few.....but majority were American! There were quite a bit of European cars also.... it was just Obama trying to extinct us like Hitler did to the Jewish but because he couldn't do it to people, he did it to our cars and heritage! Disgusting human being Obama is!

  • Is it just me or does this car look like a dodge aries from the early 80s

  • Very moving tribute to a very crappy car.

  • Mooie Tribute =)

  • I have a surprise for all you omega lovers

I own an omega and it is beeing restorred and will be finished in the summer. so look it up.... :))

  • I usually only see these with the gear shift in the middle on the floor. This car has it on the steering wheel as mine does. ...ROCKING! How much did you sell her for and Jesus -- WHY? Do you regret it? LOL.

  • Gear shift in the middle of the floor :S

Never seen that befoner, for as far as i know there are about 8 omega's in Holland, maybee more.

Why i sell her, it was a wreck.

I loved this car but believe me it was a wreck.

  • You unloaded this car?

    Good choice.

In the US, and perhaps throughout the world, it's widely know that front wheel drive cars are purchased by those who don't know cars.

If you want a super great Oldsmobile - that was clearly designed to last forever - you'll want to pick-up a 1978-1987 Olds, Cutlass. Cars of this vintage are full-framed, sporty, solid, roomy and safe. I have a '78 and while shes a plain Jane with a bench seat and column shift the girl is pure, sweet.

  • As long as your X-Body Omega was produced in 1979 (look in the passenger side door) and it was taken care of, it is a solid built car! Does not matter what you say,. LONG LIVE THE 80-84 OMEGA!

  • I love this video.

    ~Henry, in America

  • thnx for comment.

    Dave, in Holland :P

  • Great Video! I am from Philadelphia PA, USA....

These X-Body's are Rare indeed and have a bad wrap. I do love them anyway. I have a 1980 "cinnabar" colored 4 door sedan brougham kind of like yours with the chrome detailing, etc. My inside is a dupe except is yours a v-6 or L4? Mine unfortunately is L4, which goes up to a measly 85 miles per hour tops, yours seems to go into the hundreds?

  • @ReganMarcelis The car in the video is an export model for sale in the European market. The speedo is in kilometers per hour. Cars in the USA have speedos that read miles per hour. I've always had a soft spot for the Omega and its cousin the Buick Skylark.

  • If you look on the inside of the door to see when your particular car was produced means all the difference in the world! Mine was one of the first few made in 1979 for the following year before they added allot of electronic garbage within the engines.

  • That must be while mine is still around although the guy I bought mine off of had put over 7 thousand into her beforehand with a new tranny, head gasket, muffler, engine paint, brakes, etc, etc, etc, etc...you name it, its new!

  • Now I was having problems with staling but changed the battery to a bosch with 850 cranking power and it is driving and starting like a dream! No problems at ALL! Guess the guy gave up just when he was just about finished, sucks for him cause I love my OMEGA! The only other issue I have now and it may be me being used to having Anti Lock Brakes but if I am even driving 20 miles an hour and try and stop, I skid, is this me abusing the brakes or could it be fixed? LONG LIVE X-BODY OMEGA'S!!!

  • Me too man, the song and everything goes so well with the x-body OMEGA! Love the X-Body Omega's....They are becoming so RARE now you can not even find one for sale on eBay Motors!

  • I always thought the FWD X-body Omega's were the best looking of the bunch

  • The Omegas are nice but I was always a Skylark guy.

  • I liked the Skylark's second after the Omega's, at least among the 1980s models, for the late 1970s GM X-body compacts I liked the Skylark's and the Ventura/Phoenix's

  • I have to agree with you there, it is hard to find the Omega period but a brougham is even harder especially 4 door sedan. Now the Omega SX is IMPOSSIBLE to find, I been looking for years and do not think anymore exist! Anybody? I would pay good money 4 one myself. I seen a 80 x-body Omega "EURO" the guy called it, was rare, never seen one before again and if anybody out there doe snot believe me, I know there is a picture of it somewhere online I seen a few weeks ago during my Omega search.

  • sex on wheels

  • That was a great vid! I wish I had an old GM Citation or Omega cause you never see any around anymore!

  • thanks, i wish i had a good one ;)

Believe me this car really was a wreck.

But this car is driving anywhere in Holland, i don't know where but it's still rolling after i sold him.

Keep looking around for these cars, one day you will find someone ;)

  • Now you know why this is the last GM car anyone in my family ever had. In fact, many people gave up on GM around the same time my parents did. It's sad that GM lost what made it great.

That said, I'm surprised that the Omega made it 27 years. Our 1980 Omega was my mother's when it was new, and it was my brother's later on in its life. By the time the car was 8-9 years old, it was already on its last legs, so it's hard for me to imagine an Omega lasting 27 years.

  • @jhsu802701 you guys musta gotten a Lemon?..what went wrong with you guys Omega?
