I'm not sure why petit got a comment so high. 2 cubic feet is only required if the rats are antisocial towards each other. Or if they get very little attention. They eat and play and sleep together not to mention 70% of the time they're just grooming so the cage is plenty big enough. The cage is clean as are all their toys they have healthy coats and weights, and being that affectionate means she must play with them plenty, the size is fine.

That cage is way too small.. as the top comments say which i didn't realize, but they need 2 cubic feet per rat and females love high cages to climb and on the other hand males like more ground space. PLEASE do research, thank you.

@poopandfrogs yeah u can get a furred one for ur hairless, infact its better that way as the baldy can snuggle up 2 the furry for warmth, I had a hairless and furry living together!

I have 9 ferrets and they have 2 cages inside plus a massive one outside the house.

They seem to prefer the smallest cage however, and this is only a 3' x 2' with bedding and a litter tray, and a water bottle. The larger indoor cage is 3' x 2.5' but is also 4 tier but they rarely use it.

They have the freedom of the house however and only really use their cages to actualyl sleep in, so thats why they do it.

If these rats have similar freedom, then maybe the cage is big enough?

Ok, the little sods get into the most tinest holes etc so you have to try to make sure that your home is ferret proofed, and anywhere that they might sneak through, isnt going to be anywhere thats potentially dangerous to them.

The worst place mine can get to now, is behind the fridge and freezer, but this can be solved by me placing a bit of wood perhaps down the sides.

there is no need to have food to see this picture. The best thing about rats is that they love you not because you feed them. They love just because you exist and love them. I have 6 rats and that's a common thing - they just want to get your attention.

Rats LOVE attention! I had 2 rats once, and one would push the other's head down when I walked towards the cage, so that I would pet HER first. It was if she was saying, "don't pet HER, pet ME, ME, ME!" So cute!

That cage is FAR too small for all those rats. That cage is only big enough for a single rat. I hope beyond all hopes that your cage in the video is just their holding cage when you clean their large, regular cage. You should have 2 cubic feet per rat!

@petitepetsitter if you get the rats out regularly the cage can be quite a bit smaller than normal. But that one is WAY too small.

@asphyXxXia I know that, just if that is the setup then it should be bigger. I was sticking up for her by the way because everyone was saying the cage was too small without considering how often she gets them out. As long as they get their exercise then its ok to have the cage smaller than normal.
