My horse used to be a handful to ride and handle, he hatd the stable and
the only thing he knew what to do was gallop. he was an x-racehorse.
we bought him when he was 7, freshly broke into general riding. he acted like he was freshly gelded aswel. Hated hacking, spun, pulled, minni rears. Its now been 2 years and 8 months since i got him and he is completely changed, he isn't perfect but what horse it, he loved hacking and galloping, jumps 5ft with confidence. He has changed alot :) xxx
I loved when you went up to the hoses in the corral and thay looked at you and ran away:) That is just good fun and I love when my horses do that it just tells you that they feel good toda and want to play....or not in the mood to get caught lol

the horse wasn't galloping on the lounge. he was playing and i let him. i dont see why that was such a bad thing and i know it isn't no matter what you guys say.that girl was riding my big barrel horse over a ditch in a english d bit snaffle.normally he runs in a combination bit.thats why he was pulling so hard.she wanted him to stay over the ditch but he didnt want to and she was training him. it wasn't that hard on his mouth.we werent running and jerking like crazy ppl either.

Also, why I'm thinking about it, the people on here who have made comments are those who love horses as much as you do. Every single one of us are thinking about what is best for a horse every time we see a horse video. We are all in the same boat including you. We haven't said that you mistreat your horses in any way. We simply don't agree on certain things. None of us want anything bad for any horses we see...so why are we arguing? We all love horses!
When you lunge a horse with only a rope in whip it becomes hard to control them when they get upset... my advise (don't worry you can ignore it) is to use side reins or simply just ride him if you have the facilities and your comfortable (from what you can see in the video I don't think you would have an issue with staying on) Sorry for butting in but I cant help myself
Side reins are not for controlling the horse; the horse is controlled by the lunge rein and the whip, side reins are there to make the horse work in an out-line.
True but the side reins also help with control because it gives the horse something to think about and when the horse bucks and what not it will pull on their mouth just when they need to. You don't need to reply if you don't want to. I wasnt responding to your video to start a fight just to give you some advise but you dont agree.This is true with so many different people there are so many different ideas its just whatever works for you. Not my video ; true the horse can't buck quite so wildly with (tight) side reins on , but that's not what they are for and they shouldn't be used for that purpose , especially on a green horse. A green horse who tries to fight and finds himself restricted by side reins may panic and totally freak, causing himself injury.
Side reins make the horse work in an out-line and a green horse CANNOT work in an out-line, he doesn't have the muscle development for it and is likely to protest by bucking even more or turning in.
I have to say also, the horse in this video doesn't look to me like he's out of control on the lunge; he looks like he's having a little kick about and letting off steam for a laugh because he knows the trainer isn't getting down to business yet . Looks like , once the gloves are down, the trainer knows what she's doing and the horse will get on with his work when told to .
I agree with you on that one. I was a little bit concerned though when whilst going over a dip in the ground or whatever it was, the rider was pulling back on the reigns whist trying to get it to move forward.... surely these are mixed signals?? And I wasn't keen on the horses belting away from the camera. Looks likes you intentionally scared the horses to get them on film. They are beautiful horses, but would recommend not scaring them just to post it on youtube.

People look after horses in different ways and that is why everyone has different opinions on care. This is why we put our veiws forward because this is what we have been taught. On here, we then advise people about why something is wrong, or why we believe it is wrong. What we've said is constructive criticism. If you can't take that then youtube isn't the place for you.

Im not the best of riders, however, i do manage to stay on, which seems to be rather difficult for my "friends" on our livery yard, who are only too quick to point out that, your leg should be further back, your toe is pointing out, etc etc yawn yawn, and when i look at them, theyre doing exactly the same thing!! Check your own positions everyone, before you check those of others, because most of the women who comment on this page wont make it past 3rd at the local show..........

oh trailer park huh? for your info, i live in one of the best neighborhoods in Hendersonville... it may be a hick town, but my subdivision is private, free golf course and free stables for my horses.. so sure i live in a trailer park!! and i didn't say she was doing anything wrong i said she should "learn the correct way to lunge a horse" safety is my main concern here, in no way am i saying im better at anything! now shove off....
P.S horses can fool around.. ive been with horses and riding them for 10 years.... when a horse bucks when on lunge it dosnt usually mean that he's "thundering around", when a horse thuners around he'll gallop when you want to trot, stand on 2, and ive also comeacross horses who turn and race towards the lunger (but that happened because the horse was horrably trained)

I hate it when people train there horses to act up "on cue" - i just don't feel its a good idea. There's just no need really. Its more likly to cause problems than anything else. No matter how good a rider you are, it just cant be a good idea to encourge bad behavior...

nice video, i like to ride bareback too, even when jumping, i just feel like the horse and i communicate better without the saddle between us. unless the horse is really dangerous i prefer to break them bareback. anyways i liked the jumping over the camera, nice touch.
did you see the same video i did? i dont recall seeing them act up. but anyways my favorite horses have always been the ones who make you think, a little challenge makes it alot more fun. sometimes you just need a little hi-ho-silver to make the day better, and i dont think of it as acting up more as being fancy or just having fun. theres a difference in being uncontrollable and having a good time.

Some horses need a gentle hand, but there are horses that need a little more encouraging as well.
We don't know these horses, the people that own them, I would assume, do.

You must have some seriously bad depression issues or something because you're taking this all to heart. People look after horses in different ways and that is why everyone has different opinions on care. This is why we put our veiws forward because this is what we have been taught. On here, we then advise people about why something is wrong, or why we believe it is wrong. What we've said is constructive criticism. If you can't take that then youtube isn't the place for you.

Youre welcome! Im not the best of riders, however, i do manage to stay on, which seems to be rather difficult for my "friends" on our livery yard, who are only too quick to point out that, your leg should be further back, your toe is pointing out, etc etc yawn yawn, and when i look at them, theyre doing exactly the same thing!! Check your own positions everyone, before you check those of others, because most of the women who comment on this page wont make it past 3rd at the local show..........

oh trailer park huh? for your info, i live in one of the best neighborhoods in Hendersonville... it may be a hick town, but my subdivision is private, free golf course and free stables for my horses.. so sure i live in a trailer park!! and i didn't say she was doing anything wrong i said she should "learn the correct way to lunge a horse" safety is my main concern here, in no way am i saying im better at anything! now shove off....

P.S horses can fool around.. ive been with horses and riding them for 10 years.... when a horse bucks when on lunge it dosnt usually mean that he's "thundering around", when a horse thuners around he'll gallop when you want to trot, stand on 2, and ive also comeacross horses who turn and race towards the lunger (but that happened because the horse was horrably trained)

yuor not working the horses. my pony does the exact same thing, the lunge line is loose. he goes buck mad. in the stall or not, they do that for fun. they aren't fat, over worked or whatever. thise horses look really fit, happy and healthy to me. ;D

I hate it when people train there horses to act up "on cue" - i just don't feel its a good idea. There's just no need really. Its more likly to cause problems than anything else. No matter how good a rider you are, it just cant be a good idea to encourge bad behavior...

Because if you allow to people to just do whatever, things would be chaos. It does matter if you're messing up someone's or somethings elses life. Anyway, one day someone might gte one of these horses,a dn fine it plays up, when its not really its fault. Im entitled to my opinion, or my "bitching" as you like to call it. nice video, i like to ride bareback too, even when jumping, i just feel like the horse and i communicate better without the saddle between us. unless the horse is really dangerous i prefer to break them bareback. anyways i liked the jumping over the camera, nice touch.

did you see the same video i did? i dont recall seeing them act up. but anyways my favorite horses have always been the ones who make you think, a little challenge makes it alot more fun. sometimes you just need a little hi-ho-silver to make the day better, and i dont think of it as acting up more as being fancy or just having fun. theres a difference in being uncontrollable and having a good time.
