However you're wrong about republic versus democracy. A republic is a fixed system of rights protected by the state, where democracy - what people can actually vote on - is strictly limited. That means 99% of the people cannot vote away 1% of the people's rights. That's much better than a fully open democracy where people are even more easily manipulated. As for capitalism and trickle down, you need to check out why what we have is NOT capitalism has not been for a long time.
If you want change, you must BE the change. Go out in the streets and tell them you are not happy. One morning, when no one is going to get to work in the whole country, people will understand that this country they once knew is gone and they'll have all their future ahead of them.

@TheKiltedPatriot Republic vs Democracy has rather little to do with individual liberty. The election of public officials does not protect individual liberty, and any historical example of discrimination (Chinese Exclusion Act, Jim Crow, ban on interracial marriage, etc. are examples). However those laws were challenged and many defeated by courts whose job it was to interpret the Constitution, which placed limits on what government could do to interfere w/ individual liberty.
@dalhectar Agreed regarding personal liberty; however, I was commenting on his statement about a demacracy as a form of government. The Founders selected a representative republic for a reason. That said, the only way we are going to KEEP our Freedom and Liberties is by ensuring that the fedgov remains within its Constitutional limitations....something we have NOT been doing. I have a problem with a lot of the protest talk because they are condemning everyone that works on Wall Street instead of the criminals and the SYSTEM. The problem is in the system. A lot of really good people work on Wall Street independenly and for companies. They are just trying to make a living like everyone else. You cannot judge their character based on their job. @TheKiltedPatriot Republic vs Democracy has rather little to do with individual liberty. The election of public officials does not protect individual liberty, and any historical example of discrimination (Chinese Exclusion Act, Jim Crow, ban on interracial marriage, etc. are examples). However those laws were challenged and many defeated by courts whose job it was to interpret the Constitution, which placed limits on what government could do to interfere w/ individual liberty.

That said, the only way we are going to KEEP our Freedom and Liberties is by ensuring that the fedgov remains within its Constitutional limitations....something we have NOT been doing. Unfortunately, we can no longer trust the Supreme Court to abide by the Constitution.

@Sesshou17 (1) that's not what i'm saying...giving up isn't an option for humanity at this point specially the way things are turning, you should know this. what i'm saying is how is this project going to change the world when people themselves don't want to change due to the fact that they are to blind and dumbfounded to even comprehend whats going on in their heads or in the world in general....

@DarkFlame666 How? When people are jobless, homeless, foodless and have to go through an immense amount of pain, they will change. It's natural, pain is something to learn from, and it does change people. Those that are blind and dumbfounded are those who run away from the truth or the pain, but what'll happen to them is that they won't be able to run away from it anymore, hardships are going to happen to us all and will literally force us to change our thought process and values.

@Sesshou17 jobless cause of greed. foodless, homeless. those 2 can be fixed with education. if people knew how to grow their own food or build a house it's one less thing to need a job for.but people are too lazy to learn and how many are running from the truth or being blocked form it? around 75%? what you said only happens with logic. that's almost none existent in todays world due to current conditioning. my guess is everything will reset and repeat once things get really really bad. sadly

@DarkFlame666 you have to have resources to build a house or to grow food, without them your screwed. With a resource based economy you are set, unlike a monetary based one. Our politicians need to stop ignorantly making an opinion and state the facts about what the problems are, and find solutions. A lot of people run away from things, but change comes and these people will grow tired.
