yes it did. The plasma inside heated the glass to its melting point, shame if it was hot enough the glss might not have exploded but expanded until there was a small hole that let out the plasma

it was, glass is a liquid (what's called a super cool liquid) and when you heat it up enough, it starts to get softer and can change shape.

well........almost. Glass is a semi liquid. it is actualy always flowing so it is not solid in the frozen sence, it is just an incredibly slow liquid. that is why you will see antique windows that bulge on the bottom.

LOL, i kinda know how that happens. the microwave heats the gas in the bulb, which ignites. it then turns to plasma, and gives the light display. [as if its turned on] after a while the plasma will destroy the glass, giving the distinctive pop.
