  • I have used these type of saws in a bucksaw configuration to great effect

  • agreed, those wiresaws are ment to be used as a sawblade on a bent stick to create a simple bowsaw, if you use it like on the vid then they will break in notime from all that bending back and forth as they are hardened steel and not very flexible.

theres a even better method where you use 4 sticks and a string to create a tention saw, very easy to make and it will keep that wiresaw straight at all times, best used with a bowsaw blade tho wich on its own packs real easy and light and last ages

  • Best way I have found and was taught, was to take a piece of green timber 1/2 or so in dia, cut a small notch either end and bend it looping wire saw on each notch, to make a kind of bow saw, they work a lot better that way.

  • i dont trust the wire saws. yes, theyre extra small, but break too easily.

  • @DudeNumberOnePlus

That was my experience with them about 20+ years ago and haven't tried them since.

  • I bought one of those Coghlan wire saws.....it broke on the first day and on the second limb I attempted to cut. These limbs were only about and inch in diameter. I also experienced some severe sticking with it.....thing was junk, never again. Nice vid.

  • great review metioned everything about the saws tould ur prefernce jus a good alaround review
