I have the facts. I see wild turkeys every day of the year.
I live in a forested area with wild turkeys. There are turkeys at the house every day eating the seeds under my bird feeders and drinking the water from the fountain. Molting turkeys do NOT look like this one. They loose one or two feathers a day that are replaced without showing a gap in their plumage. They never loose flight capability.

they can too look like this in the molt. ive seen turkeys with a breast without feathers...all of them!
