  • Love the vertical takeoff/landing aircraft, very impressive!

Great video! TY for the post

  • way cool! I get to fly in the GaREAT sports complex in Geneva ohio, it is AWESOME and if you would like to see it I have vids with that place in it.

  • you stole my first name

  • This video, the smiling faces and the pleasure from indoor flying is the same in the UK. There is no age gap. Good friendly fun.........enjoy

  • awesome!!! Wish I could attend! I am kinda far away though :(

  • looks like a cool place to fly your models and lots of nice freindly folk, wish I had a club like thet where I live.

  • nice video you may liKe mine to its BORNTAFLY

  • I was wondering if anybody knew of a slo flying indoor aerobatic flyer for under $150

  • the slo v by parkzone

  • Looks like everybody got blade cx. AND I DIDN'T SEE YOUR BLADE MSR :(

  • looks like you enjoyed your self

  • Try put the camera between your skids instead of on you tail fin

  • Can you please tell me what video editing and capture program you are using please. And thanks for the videos. They have been entertaining as well as educational.

  • Magix Movie Edit Pro 14, not 15 Thanks for your kind words.

  • Tell them RC models will inspire the mind. Also it helps to get really good grades in school and be good. Good luck,

    Dave

  • Hi Dave:

Your video showing the GreatPlanes VFO (Pogo) convinced me that the Tower video also broke or used up a couple of the VFO's in making their demonstration video....shoot, from watching Tower's video, I thought I could lay the transmitter down and it would hover itself. Thanks for providing "what else can happen with a GreatPlanes VFO"! Stay warm! ET

  • Thanks kindly. I took the bug robot to skating last night, and they want me to put little roller skates on it. LOL.

This Pogo is just like the real one. It must land vertically or your dead. I never saw the GP video but believe it. The front end is very weak. It will not hover at all by itself as you can see. Thanks for the comments.

    Dave

  • 4:47 kostas is greek right? (awesome video)

  • dave or any1 please tell me where I can get the pogo or order it from john?thanks nice vid =D

  • John and others will have them, but right now, it seems they are not in stock at too many places yet. Thanks.

  • That's cool that Mr. Donavan has these events every year, Dave. It sure looks like lots of fun. (and a nice tribute to him on your part as well!) It sure was great to see you again the other day and it was nice to fly with you and get some good 1 on 1 instruction. Even though it's cold as hell up here, seeing you is always worth it! :-)

  • Thanks kindly Scott. It was fun.

  • excellent i love my Pogo, many hours of fun, looks a good event sure is my idea of fun!!!!!!!!!!

  • amazink ^^

  • amazing!

  • Looks like a fantastic event. I can't help wonder though, if the AMA membership requirements might be a little stringent, considering the scale of many of the planes flying. (minimal risk of damage or injury). I'm sure many casual fliers and kids are not part of AMA who fly small helis and planes, and these folks would probably enjoy participating in this event and make it more successful. THEN you can promote AMA to them. Thanks Dave!

  • AMA requirements are not stringent to us, as we cannot use any facility without liability insurance! It only cost $29 to get in the AMA park flyer program giving 2.5 million insurance and $500,000 personal liability insurance. You see if we break something at the church or hit someone and they sue we all would lose the site. Cost for AMA is cheaper than the planes & you get a magazine too. We have applications on hand when we have these. We try to promote AMA at these events to protect all.

  • Hey Dave, would you be interested in posting a video on how to install a Lipo pack on the Dx6i?

  • Not sure. It only holds 4 AAA batts and that is pretty cheap and it never needs charged. Ill chew on it, as for this reason, the voltage would go to 7.4 with a lipo and the TX is TUNED to run on 5 to 6 volts. More bat power could put out more power than legally allowed and actually De tune the tx. Reducing power with a resister also uses power unnecessarily. I use dollar store batts at $.25 each or $1 to replace the 4 of them. They last longer too on 2.4 ghz. Thanks for the comments.

  • So where was jeff martin flying ? nice video thanks for sharing, i liked the hot & cold water in winter video too.

  • I wasn't there, although I would have liked to have been. I had other things to do that day, unfortunately.

  • Glad to see you guys having some fun indoors, thats a must in the winter, lol.

  • You got that right! It's been too cold to pee outside (not that I do that) let alone fly an airplane. How ya doin' Bob?

  • Hi Dave, any chance I could get you to land on the carrier, make sure you got your tail hook down! LOL

  • Dave, you should make you sukhoi a brushless. It is AMAZING!

  • Gee, mine is pretty fast already. That would be difficult as the radio rx contains the speed controller. A separate brushless speed controller would be way heavy and difficult to install, along with 3 servos, 'cause you would not be able to use both. Mine is fast enough for me. LOL Thanks for the suggestion.

  • mine does fine. the esc is separate and plugs into the rx to allow th use of the 3 servos.

  • Please educate me. I have my Sukhoi radio out of the plane entirely. An aileron servo is plugged in, and there is a port behind it which does nothing on my DX6i. There is another plug in the middle, but it has 4 pins, I tried the first 3 pins, but no servo moves either. The motor plugs into the onboard ESC, so where do I plug that extra servo or Speed controller in? Did you order new plugs somewhere? I want to use it in another plane. Thanks again, Dave

  • i plugged the esc in to the 3 plugs that the normal brushed motor plugs into. The mode of the rx has to be changed to brushless mode by turning on the rx with the throttle stick in the left hand corner (full left rudder and throttle).

  • Cool. So, then that means, if I used just the two pins to the brushed motor as is, I could then use an external brushed ESC too? Mine is bound to my DX6i. Do you switch to Brushed the same way? I would assume so. Thanks. Good tips.

  • @NightFlyyer i go to a place called wingsnthings and we have a real pogo in the museam that you can even touch

  • Hey!

Im the only one under 40 in our flying club! lol

  • In my opinion the Pogo is cool, but I don't think anyone could really find much use for it other than maybe taking it out for an event like this once or twice a year.

  • RC club is an alien word here..Liverpool UK sucks on that one : (

  • Hi Dave, l am interested in scratch building from foam sheets. What is the best source of info to get started?

  • Every new video you post puts a smile on my face .

  • you need to make more vids dave

  • i was just thinking that same thing

  • cool, i'd be there next year, but i live on cape cod!

  • Marvelous video! This one certainly makes one wish to acquire some training kits and start practicing! Well, aside for not being the great quality that normally characterices your videos, it's a great show. And all those veteran flyers... man, to have been there...

  • Thanks. It is done processing now, so it can be viewed in HD. Come next time.
