I've been on that trail 3 times, the first 2 times couldn't do it as there were far too many people hanging around debating whether to attempt it or not, but on my last visit the other week, my first real attempt, I did it!!
Get all you're weight on the back, control the back brake and just let gravity take you down. Simples.....
I think the main problem is that big rock right at the bottom which tries to throw you off, it doesn't show up in videos. Did it on a rigid bike yesterday and crashed the first time myself. Those slopes immediately afterwards have been turned into actual drops now, it's great.
this video is very deceptive they have either changed it or its just the video thats making it look alot less steep than it actually is,rode it today 14/6/11 and bloke in front of me went over the handle bars and somehow his leg went through his front wheel
@jibbyjabby1968 totally agreed, it looks far, far, steeper than that in reality. must be the camera angle. On the other hand the new section at LLandegla looked much HARDER on a video I saw than it actually was. Just shows - cameras lie - and people should be quick to judge.
it looks alot smaller than it actually is on this video. i nearly fly over the handlebars everytime i ride it :-) seen a good few crashes aswell, i think some people panic and turn too soon at the bottom and end up oversteering
@MrJonnyboyification Just make sure your weight is back and down low and stay off the brakes while going down it, there's no reason you should feel like flying over bars. The right hand turn is a little tight so my advice to anyone struggling is just concentrate on riding the 'slope' and braking first, even if you do that in a straight line, don't matter, once you have some confidence, the turning part will follow and eventually you will be able to ride it smoothly, hardly touching the brakes.
i've seen loads of vidoes of this drop but haven't yet managed to muster up the courage to drive to cannock and have a go myself, is it really as difficult as it looks? so do both wheels come off the actual ground? how many inches is the drop? shall i bring my body armour or will i be ok with just my kneepads and gloves? - when will andy be there next? he really needs to wear a full face helmet for stunts like that!!!
The drop used to be an actual drop when first opened, but they now made it more of a rocky run off. I think what makes it tricky is you have to turn straight out of the drop
@milduf Trust me, he couldn't

Rode it today, not hard at all but saw a lot of people making a hash of it, it is just a bit tight that's all

Rode it today and to be fair it is awkward and pretty tight. The vid doesn't show that ,apologies for the negative comment

Lol. Why do they call it the werewolf drop ? It's just a little slope. Makes me laugh some of the things xc riders think are so mental.

Yeah i remember when the werewolf drop was an actual drop, they should change the name to the Werewolf chickenshit slope lol

I've read a lot about the "werewolf drop"
Is it as easy as you made it look or is this video deceptive?
