@cocacolaholic No need, as this is the PAL version :-D But if this would be avaiable in Japanese version, i guess you get the best version when it comes to speed and smoothness, depending on where the game was developped :-D
@musicmaniac1965 i am not aware of virtua racing or the sega ages game compilations being released in the uk for the ps2, well i havent seen it on the shelf anyway
@cocacolaholic Here it had been on the shelft a short time, as here, usuall, the Sega games aren't that populair. So when all the fan's have gotten their game, it usually goes off sale real quick.
Maybe it's still avaiable in the second hand market.
The selection of games in Sega Classics Collection was really disappointing. Why include trash like Columns, "TantR" or Monaco GP when there's SO many better games to choose from in the SEGA AGES series, like remakes of Phantasy Star, Virtua Fighter 2, Virtual-On, Panzer Dragoon, Puyo Puyo 2, Galaxy Force, After Burner...
@angel2901 Just google "Sega classics collection for playstation 2" You will find the game there. So if you (still) have a playstation 2, you can play this game as well.
@angel2901 Virtua Racing was sega's first 3D graphics racer, so for it's time, it looks good. But by the standards the ps2 can do, it's really empty, no details, and no textures, so sure, for a PS2 game, it's ugly :-) But for me, the most important thing was the gameplay of the arcade version, and that's here as well :-D

@musicmaniac1965 The advantage to the low poly and lack of textures is that it left room for some great improvement, such as increasing the poly count itself, as well as adding realistic shadows while maintaining a full 60FPS framerate, making it look good for what it used to be.
@FoxShot01 I know, and i am happy how the conversion made it to the Playstation 2, but another visitor found the game ugly, but when i explained it was a Playstation 2 game, he understood. LOL.
I like the 60Fps framerate and the polygon graphics. For that time, nothing came close.
@nooblet911 I agree, and also for me, the knowledge of this being the first game that uses polygon graphics, so it's amazing how much detail they brought with no texture mapping :-D

Pure nostalgie! 60 fps zijn heel vet. Jammer dat Sega nog geen 480p had ingebakken, want 60 fps en interlaced gaat niet zo goed samen.... je ziet dus vage effecten. Maar lekker game, lekker simpel! ik werd overal 1e, op de laatste baan tweede bij de eerste keer spelen. Het speelt erg lekker en simpel. Maar ik zou hem wel op 4:3 spelen, dan is alles duidelijker. haha lijkt me lache om 2p te spelen!
@1live2live zekers strak hoor, die 60 FPS, en voor zo'n oude game, ziet het er best nog goed uit ook. zou wel leuk zijn op xbox live arcade en psn. en dan multiplayer online in laten zetten, dat zou helemaal tof zijn. het speelt inderdaad erg lekker weg. bedankt voor je leuke reactie.
Je moest dan wel de echte arcade kast versie filmen en niet de PS2 versie :P Want die heeft bagger controllers, dat weet je! Je krijgt er RSI van! lol!
