sawyer used kate for a quick one in the cage. jack was the one that pestered kate to go back 2 the island. but yea they made all the characters a bunch of idiots and the main story was who was going to fuck kate.

jack was a suicidal old fucker n the reason 4 most of the problems.

sawyer ruined his own life with juliet when he was making eyes at kate and juliet caught him. they should have all gone into a cage together and made each other happy in more ways than one.

tobi656... there is no "real one" according to the producers. it's not like one is the real reality and one is alternative.. actually, it's that either one by itself would be disappointing for fans, so they decided to do both. a "flash sideways", if you will. the storylines may or may not converge, but it will show that who the characters fundamentally are IS consistent in either world, and their destinies will be too. of course, small differences in the new reality.

What would of changed is When Juliet was slamming the bomb with a rock, and detonated it, that caused there to be no reason to need the button to be pressed. Ultimately, Desmond never failed to press the button which caused the magnetic wave that dragged the plane down to the Island. So none of the Losties landed on the island. But who knows what else it could of changed. I'm starting to wonder if Hurlie won the lotto without the numbers.

i think that the bomb was the "failsafe" down in the hatch that desmond triggerd in season 2 finale, instead Juliet triggered it b4 desmond ever came. mabye they prevented th crash, but gained psycic owers or sumthing. mabye they go to LA, but hav memories from th island.

They probably got jumped into an alternate timeline where none of that stuff ever happened, meaning that the other versions of them went on with their lives. I think nothing has changed and only Desmond can change things because he is "special" and "the rules doesnt apply to him", but thats another thing..

what if the reason he was special was because he was exposed to the exotic matter within the swan station? It was never determined or said he was special before he turned the key in the station. Now that the h-bomb detonated it probably exposed the rest of the oceanic survivors and co. to the same exotic matter, making them, like desmond, special. but...there is not enough information to fully answer that question

In the correct timeline, yes, Wayne does die. I think they're hinting at the possibility of an alternate timeline created when the bomb blew up. Season 6: The 5th dimension.

1) the island will make one character or all of them experience/see what would have happened if they didn't crash

2) alternate universe, maybe b/c plan worked or maybe not

The bomb plan succeded cause you can tell in the Hurley Commercial that cause the crash never happened, he got save to LA and bought the Chicken Shack.

In the Airlines commercials they say they've had no crash for 30 years, which means, they DIDN'T crash on the Island.

In this commercial, Kate landed with the Marshall and she ran away from him, it's that simple.

But it is not that simple. Where did Hurley get the money in this new scenario to the chicken shack? Originally he got the numbers from a friend. Those numbers were connected to the Island and everyone who had them got bad luck. Hurley landing in LA would not erace the bad luck he got before he went to Australia.

Damn!, are they going to do an alternate reality/ parallel universe thing next season? So they will have flashes between two realities. One reality where the plane did crash and another one where the plane didnt crash?

They will show us bits of all the losties as if they had never crashed on the island. So they will just live there life as normal. This would make sense as why a number of dead characters are returning next season. Maybe we seem in alternate reality.

yeah thats what i remember too from "What Kate Did". i think what they're trying to say here is that when these guys tried to change the past, everything else possibly changed, even small details, as one poster already said here, like the Butterfly Effect. hmmm, we can infer a lot of things, who knows, Jack died before Sept 22, 2004 in this alternate universe.
