When I think of 2012 I don't think of exaggerated events like this. I just think of lots of world events or a 'collapse' in society, kind of like how our economy world wide is rather low right now. The end of 'life as we know it' doesn't mean the world is going to blow up or aliens are going to invade. It could be something completely logical.

What ticks me off about the movie is that it takes every opportunity it can by slapping around religion. Yet it is entirely one sided; you see no Islamic structure or symbol torn down by nature.

The coward is of course the director, as he knows he'll receive death threats from Islamic communities. So the safest route is to attack Christians, because, of course, Christians don't go around and chop off heads like the Queen of Hearts.

And, historically, the ONLY Mega-Tsunami in modern times (as in the past 2 1/2 centuries) was the one resulting from Krakatoa's explosion (250-300 ft. tall). And, I'm measuring only "open ocean" tsunamis, not those funneled up rivers, bays or lagoons.

Of course, if you wish to really go there, the 1946 Hilo, Hawaii wave (open ocean) was 180-240 feet. (It jumped over and engulfed 6-story tall palm trees and took out half the coast).

but first, it has to get over the DELMARVA (Delaware, Maryland, Virginia) PENINSULA!!! And that's about 100 miles across. So, in reality, DC is sorta (not fully, but SORTA) "Buffered".

Plus you can't last over 8 hours on pure oxygen because it will over power your resperatory system. That is the equivilent of chocking slowly.

It has great special effects- everything looked real to me (and didn't have any of those uncomfortable moments where it looked cartoonish)

It was filled with action- yay!

It made you think afterwards about if this was to really happen, how would we act.

Also, any extra character development would have pushed the movie over 3 hours which everyone seems to hate.

This movie was AMAZING!!! I came out as a different person after watching this last night. There where a lot of people that where scared and walked out of the theater but mostly everyone stayed. Ok first of all, i have 2 say that this movie was disturbing. I saw scenes that i though "Oh God no, how can they kill such a nice person?" ... Actually its like a big horror film. They start off with like 13 people searching for survival and in the end 6 (including a dog) Survives and get on the ship.
