When my cat ran away someone shot him with a beebee gun. I was so upset, you have no Idea. I don't understand how people can look at themselves in the mirror after doing such things to animals. I love your videos ! They just made my day ! :) I want to take care of animals too ! Hopefully, one day ! :)

@VVNHify Beebees are tiny round bullets from a gun. They resemble birdshot. Someone shot this skunk a few times.

We have a family of wild skunks that visit us all summer. They've become used to my dog and dont spray her anymore (but they did once, yuk!). Now they know she wont eat them. She isnt afraid of them either. When they are in her bed she just goes in there anyway. It's an unusual relationship. I've gotta get a photo.

@elcox71 No, I didn't get sprayed. Skunks only spray as a last resort. I did get sprayed once by a baby skunk. I was all dressed up for a hot date and the baby didn't recognize me and sprayed me in the face right before my date came over.

I removed all the bee bees I could find under the skin. Some were very corroded, had been in there a long time. Most were on her back and sides. They left blue marks on her skin. She was missing a lot of fur so you could see the blue dots on her easily. It must have been from the metal corroding.

Do you ever trim their claws? or do you leave them beyond bear-leangth long? Also such a cute little stinker <3

I trim skunk claws every two weeks, wild or tame. I trim them within 1/16" of the quick. Skunks, gophers naturally have long nails.

How do you handle  a wild skunk without getting bites?

I've never been bitten by a wild skunk. A skunk's main defense is to run, then threaten to spray you, then spray you, and run. By the time I've picked up a wild skunk they realize I don't want to harm them. Skunks are by nature pretty laid back.
