  • hey i'm just in 4th grade in tropical elemtary cassagnol, roger

  • does the verb always have to have an "ED" at the end? if not can u plz give me some examples of verb or tell me what a verb is? and what does "modify" mean

  • awesome

  • thanks & nice track

  • thank you so much ! my homeschooling is very diffacult for me 'cause im a vissual learner and you helped me a lot !

  • Something that will always throw me off is two-word long verbs. Never have I been so frustrated when trying to find the verbs for the noun like I do when locating all the verbs in a clause, especially when trying to locate appositives. I don't seem to struggle with finding phrases because I know they can't stand alone and thus, when I read a sentence with a phrase, I can always find it. But finding the exact words of the phrase just lose me so easily... [W]ill stay, [W]ill . . . visit.

  • @2lateforyou What does that make the word "either" in those phrases?

  • um for the first example. You need two independent clauses, but you used one independent and one dependent clause because you said "them" so technically you know... your kinda wrong right? EX: Sorry if I am wrong about the comment, but I was taught that using "them" would make it a dependent sentence. -Honors English Class 7th grade 2010-2011

  • use FANBOYS to remember the conjuctions. Your students will remember that better. For, And, Nor, But, Or, Yet, So. FANBOYS :)

  • Thank You!

  • why the comma after "dishes?"

  • @Xanith83 -- "I washed the dishes, and my wife dried them."

It wouldn't be a tragedy to exclude the comma, but there are two clauses: I washed the dishes. My wife dried them. Each clause has a subject and a verb. You wouldn't use a comma in a sentence with one subject: I washed and dried the dishes.

  • @learnamericanenglish I understand now thanks. You have a new subscriber.

  • i have a compoud sentence but i don't know if its correct, he didn't do his homework, nor did he got ot school.

  • @juakka -- Yes, that's okay with a few corrections:

He didn't do his homework, nor did he go to school.

  • @learnamericanenglish dude its the same thing he just wrote ? except "H" for HE in capitals ?
