WOW... f*** all these haters on here who just want to find something wrong with this girl, her voice, her guitar playing, etc. This cover was amazing, period. I am a HUGE fan of Elliott Smith's music and her cover brought his song justice.
To my it seems that of a good beginning the song already you interpret it very rapidly, and secondly it seems that your voice works for impulses of your agrganta and it is not like that, you have to leave qeu the union between voice and guitar is joint, I do not like at all your interpretation
her voice is beautiful. i didn't know the original song, but this didn't sound rushed to me at all. she is a little pitchy in places and seemed nervous, but her voice is fantastic- amazing tone. i know that everybody has their own opinions, but i'm telling you her voice is good. For the most part she was on pitch except when she let it get away from her. she knows what i'm saying. she needs to strengthen her control and build confidence, which negative criticism doesn't really help build, btw.
See... Thats the good thing about Elliott Smith. You don't need all that vocal vibrato crap, it just makes it sounds wierd... Also, picks are out of the question unless it's an electric song like LA.
I agree with jupis20, personnaly i think this version is shocking! For starters she can't sing, but that aside, i'm sick of people covering elliott smith songs and not playing them properly!!!!!!!!! Why is she using a plectrum as well?
Are you suggesting that (a) covers should do nothing but attempt to replicate the original, or (b) that only a man could sing "No Name #3"? If it's the former, I don't know how to argue with you, other than to ask why you would watch someone's cover of anything. If it's the latter... WHY? Do the lyrics convey a male-only perspective?
brilliant

Not a popular song of elliott's to cover, but that doesn't compromise her interpretation of it. Nice.

"Guy sounding"? She's singing in HER voice, not trying to recreate Elliott exactly.
