Fess.....was introduced to us on the West Side of the Atchafalaya River with "Go to the Mardi Gras" and "Big Chief" with the greatest beginning of a song(s) ever on the piano and then throw in some whistling.....oohhh yeaaaaa.......and he had us hooked on his music
@CajunRice1000 The original music for "Go to The Mardi Gras" or as it's called now, "Mardi Gras in New Orleans" came from a song he did I believe in the late 40s titled " East St. Louis Baby". I have posted it on Youtube already. Give it a listen. Cool curiosity piece.
This really highlights his voice. He sounds wonderful! I love his singing. Period. ...but this is fantastic. Thanks so much! Good luck fighting off 'Big Brother'!
OK, I admit it...I have quizzes to correct...forget it! I "need" this music! After totalling my Corvette (for which I saved 10 years) I thank you so much for giving me some solace.
wow, just heard this on "Southland" and googled the lyrics, found this. never heard of him but will be getting an album soon, hopefully vinyl at some point. what should i start with?
@KJPRAR1 And you are so kind to say that but growing up with this music and now having the opportunity to bring it to the attention of other music lovers is for me, a privilege. Nevertheless, thank you for the comment! Really really appreciate it.
@GOLDBAND45 You're welcome and thank you. I have a few things that people have already posted of which I have better quality but I hate posting stuff that someone else did already. Perhaps some day. I have so much to post thats' not on here, don't think I'll ever run out. Take care
