yes you do. In order for the game to work, while the Xbox is reading it from the hard drive, the disk drive IS still getting constant confirmation that the disk is still there.

You have to have the disk to help prevent piracy, it's not a technical limitation. Plus the disk doesn't spin it's just in there to prove u had a copy of the game.

you still need th disc in the tray to play the game even though it's on your harddrive. that way the x360 knows that you own the real copy of the game and that your friend didn't copy the game onto his harddrive to play with it without paying for it blah blah blah.

But after 6 mins of installing, i tried to play RB2, and it said "Please insert Disc". I was like "WTF??? INSTALLING TO HARD DRIVE IS USELESS!!" but apparently it's suppposed to reduce loading times. Not be able to play games without the disc. almost a next to useless feature.
its not usless it doesnt spin the disk its only in there to verify that you have the game and if the disk doesnt spin you dont use the laser that reads the disk witch means your 360 will last longer

i heard its less noise and its faster running on the HD. Loading time is very quick. running on less power so your xbox is about 20% more cool. effective against that RRoD.
But i still have a question, since im broke and could only afford the ARCADE. NXE will fit on the memory stick,BUT can i switch to a hard drive later without using my memory stick? Will NXE need to reinstalled or will it mess up my 360?

load time improves in certain games like gears of war but others like halo are built to run perfectly from your disc so if you install halo it messes you up,it even told me the first time i played halo after the update.....i think it does stop from freezing or at least mine it doesnt freeze i think i've been lucky since my 360 never broke down but if yours freezes it might have dust inside of it, but i really dont know anything about the freezing problem

It should come up with your wireless network modem, click it. Depending on what security set-up you have, if you want quick set-up just dont set-up WEP if you do, find out what it is and when it tries to connect.On the screen it should sign you out and start testing the connection it should take a couple of minutes

yeah the cd has to be in the cd drive but the cd dosnt spin the drive just makes sure u didnt rent the game and download it.. so yeah if u download a game it playes a crap load quieter

The Wii has the best 1st party titles on the market (like every Nintendo system), but unfortunately, unlike the amazing SNES, that's about it. 3rd party sucks on the Wii, with a few exceptions. I hope Nintendo can return next time with a system as great as the SNES (which, judging by you're language, you've never heard of), but I doubt they will. Ah... the 16-bit days were great.

It should come up with your wireless network modem, click it. Depending on what security set-up you have, if you want quick set-up just dont set-up WEP if you do, find out what it is and when it tries to connect.On the screen it should sign you out and start testing the connection it should take a couple of minutes
