When Dante defeated Nelo Angelo in DMC 1 he returned Virgil to hell, but Virgil was not "dead". When Nero's arm was injured by a demon Virgil possessed it, giving Nero the devil bringer and giving him Virgil's DT when he used the Yamato.

Yeah I think Nero is kind of a well done character, he somehow reminded me of DMC 1 Dante in his behaviour - sometimes a little joke, sometimes serious, and of course the tears because he thought he lost Kyrie

And I think his weapons were pretty cool ideas...

To be quite honest, I would feel a bit out of place if he used all of them from DMC3 (its' like stealing all of his moves). I think that air slash was pretty awesome, with the distance and pressure from the Yamamoto even though that was just one (I was expecting to see more from it). And I do agree with you. Vergil NEEDS to come back. Well he's already dead in the first DMC...or not (hopefully) XD
