Thanks everyone, for your kind comments. Being able to take 2 1/2 minutes and give this speech in front of a crowd of about 500 people was a real treat. I only wished there was more time. The original speech I wrote could go more than 10 minutes, so I had to chop and paraphrase dramatically to keep within the time allottment. The resulting speech was more powerful than I could have hoped... I updated the "About this Video" comments to the right with the first 30 seconds of the actual speech.

Unfortunately, Mr. Blosser was not elected. We have a very strong neo-conservative adversary who is entrenched deeply within our Senate District. His power and influence spread deeply into a blind group of followers. People literally showed up at the last minute to vote for him and then left virtually immediately afterwards. We very well could have taken the vote if all of the people who committed to come to the SD convention would have actually come... (continued)

... and if we had done a better job of showing the "fence sitter, old timers" that we had strong numbers. There are many old timers within our local District who would love to unseat Stuart Lane (the current Chair), but are too afraid to vote against him... it's all very silly in my opinion... exactly what would he do?... Take their birthday's away? The politics of fear, opression, and deceit are alive and well in Tarrant County.

I just wish we had a chance to participate in the Nueces County Convention. WE were "railroaded." So glad to know it went well for ya'll in Tarrant County. Our precincts were stacked as well with people who were not elected at the precinct convention.
