Mine came with the 3 cell battery and i get around 3 hours battery life with wireless activated. Either way its a great laptop i reccomend it to anyone/

Same here. Mine came with a 3 Cell Battery and gets about 3hrs on a full charge. Its a great little computer for surfing the net and typing up reports or documents for school (in my case) or for a business person. Its small and easily portable. The only major downside are the speakers aren't that loud and theres no volume control visible. I've only had mine for a few hours (Black Friday Steal at $200!) and I recommend it to anyone though.

What I really want to know, and cant understand anything but english, is if its alright to install a couple programs on it. Im gonna be using this solely for my music producing. Im deleting everything off of it in order to make more space. I plan on upgrading to the 2gb ram. It comes with XP. I cant see why not other than having to get the external CD drive.

Nobody cares though, im just thinking on computer comments.

you can buy the aspire with the 3 cell battery that is cheaper and its flush . it doesnt come out but id prefer the 6 cell more battery life

How is the fan and harddisk noise ?

The Harddisk noice is definetely very quiet. About the fan I can't say anything because I don't have the machine myself yet (I'm gonna get it in a week) but it shouldn't be very loud. See it like this: small book, small fan!
