I've been a Gorillaz fan ever since they came out in 2001 with their first album. There is a ton of depth to their music. In the case Plastic Beach, the main theme was the environment & how humans are slowly killing it off. Every single song in one form is connected to that.

I've been a Gorillaz fan ever since they came out in 2001 with their first album. There is a ton of depth to their music. In the case Plastic Beach, the main theme was the environment & how humans are slowly killing it off. Every single song in one form is connected to that.

ok i realise that Gorillaz may not want people covering their songs or whatever but it's not like miley could get them on her tour for that one show to perform the song for her. think about the reason she performed this song. yeah it's a beautiful song and just maybe it has hidden meaning for her crew and she wanted to make their night special too. it was a happy moment in time. why people have to bring that down, on youtube, in comments these people may never see, i don't know.

@MsTinabomb i do agree that this cover actually isn't that bad at all... and it's not like she's doing this for profit... and it's for her two friends who are getting married... but one of the reasons gorillaz was founded was because damon albarn doesn't like covers by turgid pop artists (one of the reasons he hates Glee).
again, i actually don't mind this cover at all. just that damon wouldn't be more than happy about it.

She might be the complete opposite of what Gorillaz stands for, but she's singing this for friends. She's not selling this, she's saying goodbye to people who mean a lot to her, and this song obviously means something to them too. I am going to state my opinion. I am a Miley Cyrus and Gorillaz fan. I love them both so much and I love this song so much, it has amazing value to me. I thought Miley sang it absolutely beautifully. She was crying too. Its a very emotional song for me as well. <33 No one should tell her that she can't sing a cover. Music is for everyone and we can all enjoy it. She sang it uniquely with her beautiful and unique voice that I have always loved. Thumbs up if you agree.

In a slutty and disastrous manner, but she kind of broke free. I really hate her teen-idol music, but for god's sakes she's barely an adult. look the freedom of music is what i always thought Gorillaz stood for, and i believe if someone wants to cover their song it's fine, Miley sings exceptionally well, and sounds like it meant alot to her friend, but still she milked that concert and every previous one, she started with a conglomerate company that manufactures child stars, it's a pity that she can't respect the music she just played to it's full extent.

If she really knew anything about Gorillaz, she would know that the members of the band hate people like her, and they hate it when people cover their songs, too. Gorillaz was pretty much founded on the idea that people like this need to go.
