Go On Only takes a minute!

    youtube.com/user/RussellEdmondsmusic?feature=mhum

  • were did u get the video of the Beatles smoking weed

  • I think you all ought to cross-check with Syd Barrett here as there is a slightly different recording of Syd (allegedly) and John singing this song.

  • mary jane = marijuana

  • amazing psichedelic session...ouuuuuuuuch what a trip...ahahahahahahha fantastic...i love you boy...eternal love...

  • @TheTrollKing123 they do not there's no one who they top them .this song was just them playing around

  • 1:20 George looks so much like my friend Dave it's crazy.

  • Its not really The Beatles. Its John and Yoko. Like 'Revolution 9', the other Beatles did their best to keep 'John and Yoko collaborations' off The White album. Thankfully, they won and most of the 'ideas' and 'experiments' went onto the 'Two Virgins' album.

  • i like the lennon solo version much better. i find it less cheesy and more mental.

  • the great thing about the bealtes is that they have over 300 songs and most of them are good

  • what a jane had a merry shame at the party..........

  • eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee........

  • I realy like the melody. Too bad Johns relationship with drugs where to friendly in the later years...

  • hmmm..........

  • John was the leader of The Beatles and he did have the best solo career of them all but as far as songs in the Beatles go It's hard to say who wrote the better songs since they were a team. Most of their songs were written by both, only some were written by 1 person

  • @cmoretti04 Wow, that's just my opinion, great comment you posted, i totally agree with you.

  • waa!! geneal xD

  • Just goes to show, even The Beatles could have off days. It's quite obvious why they didn't release this.

  • beautiful song <3

  • @StraightTwoDVD, maybe you should take your head out of your ass and and shut the fuck up. John Lennon is EASILY the most fantastical and unbelievable song writer. Watch yourself, if you start saying that shit out in public someone might take your balls and shove them down your throat.

  • i love the beatles,,

i have sence as long as i can remember

    but this is

    AWFULL

    >=-o

    aww.

  • @StraightTwoDVD You're a moron...

  • You retarded, Lennon is the best songwriter ever existed.

  • no he isnt....and he'd tell you the same...he was great during his beatles period..and over all mediocre in his solo career...

sorry but the truth hurts...you never would read where paul would say a john song sucked..

but john said pauls songs sucked like "maxwell's silver hammer", "hello goodbye" , "birthday" etc...

well this maryjane song sucks as did johns "sometime in new york city" album, "mind games" was mediocre compared to "band on the run"..

    lick my nuts nigga

  • Go to fuck yourself dumbass. John Lennon's solo career is the best solo career of all of the beatles and he is the ebst single songwriter of all them. He was the main composer in the beatles and it was his band. John and the mondongs, john and the silver beatles, etc... There always was something about John. This song doesn't suck, and sometime in new york city is a good album but polemic.

  • It was the sixties for fucs sake!

Of course the were on drugs.

Lawrence Welk and country stars were on drugs. Mike Brady was blowing guys in gay night clubs. Wake up and accept it for what it really was people !

  • The debate on this thread about whether or note The Beatles' music was influenced by drugs is just absurd. Read any reliable biography (such as John Lennon A Life by Philip Norman) and you will find all proof you need as if listening to the music wasn't enough. Their early music was fueled by speed; John himself called Rubber Soul "the pot album" and Revolver "the acid ablum".

  • I like mp4ify for converting utube videos as mp3 or mp4 - its fast..

  • I think the most hilarious thing is that with the exception of John (who was a true junkie) , the fans probably did and thought alot more about drugs than the Beatles did.

  • @basenjib123

John (who was a true junkie). Source?

  • i wish the world was a little more beatles nowadays (the emotion of beatles)

  • sorry to burst your bubbler there Theholdplague but they never made music under the influence of anything, they just couldnt.

  • @flywhiteguy32 just listen to lucy in the sky and some other things on sgt pepper`s...

  • not true. lucy in the sky was writen under lsd

  • @Tpaola238 no johns son brought a picture home about a girl in the sky her name was lucy and she was holding diamonds john thought it was beautiful so he wrote a song about it and never knew it was spelled like that till the 70's

  • maybe more at 1:08. never noticed that huge fatty =D

  • 1:13

    Passing the joint!

    Looked like a fatty too.

  • Lol i think they were high as hell when they made this... lol still good.

  • this is so RANDOM

  • wata shame mary jane had pain at the party

  • any beatle song is good

  • This sounds too cut up and the 2 versions do not blend well, but i understand what your trying to convey. In the demo the chorus is catchier. But the version from Anthology 3 is the best one. I love this song.

  • Thanks for the comment. I tried to do clean edits, but I know that the last one was not that slick.

  • it is not one of my favorites ...

  • i think they were on something when they wrote this song but they where on stuff when they wrote all of there songs but this one sucks

  • not the best Beatles song...Still great because its the Beatles

  • @MrDoomStoner They were humans, not just the great musicians , they were kidding and joking.

  • @MrDoomStoner still great because it great

  • not my favorite of all the beatles songs.....

  • faltou o Syd Barrett

  • manson was delegating his murders at this time. nobody mentions that.. rosemarys baby was all ready made

  • Khool is rUlIng!!!!

  • I could swear I downloaded a recorded version of this with the Beatles and Syd Barrett. Noticably all blasted. Don't have it any more ... was on an old HD. Downloaded it from some P2P site ... which I don't do any more, btw. (Today i practise safe surfing)

  • It's been proven that Syd Barrett was not in the studio with John and Yoko when this was recorded. The myth started because Pink Floyd was recording Piper when The Beatles were recording Pepper.

  • I like the song title a lot lol but the song isnt one of they're best

  • yeah this song sucks balls

    but smoke weed everyday folks

  • u are so stupid

  • ?weed is still called mary jane

  • (2)they feed to them. John was fighting for something that had a vey good concept and now people just swollowed it and threw it up into the side. And for A WWIII I think there is going ot be one and for use that do not care just let "Instant karma hit you in the face" you well see it pretty soon. Unless you live in a suburb were everything may seem like its going well and do not care what is going on around you.

  • that is why this country has gone to hell because people do not care what is going on anymore they just take in all the materilistic possesions

  • reinds me of 'Les Claypools Frog Brigade'

well i suppose that reminds me of this.

    =]

    x

  • I beileve it is very, very, rare, but I beileve this was put onto a 45 Lp before The Beatles officially decided it was too controversial to make a full release.

  • @thighmister: your wrong... just wrong...

  • isn't this about the time pot was made completely illegal. everyone think with me here. the beatles show up talking about peace and love, smoking joints left and right. then the plant is made illegal and our country goes straight to hell.

not to mention the government hating on lennon into his final year because he spoke FOR THE PEOPLE!!

everyone get ready for WWIII, it's right around the corner and I think it's going to be ugly.

  • What makes you so sure it'll be ugly? Maybe it'll be AWSOME!! Like Star Wars!

  • things are what they are so shut up we dont care

  • that comment really shows why this country has gone to shit, "shut up we don't care"

  • Uh, no. Pot was made illegal many years before, and even then it was because African-Americans were making a successful industry out of it. Most drugs prohibitions were because of racism.

  • Its def not because the african americans were dealing drugs...It was banned because hemp (the plant marijuana is part of) was replacing wood and other materials, in textiles and paper, as well as other products, big business owners of the time ran a smear campaign so they wouldn't lose money, and it has been illegal since the 30's

  • i bet u got that from family guy lol. its illegal cause the u.s. believed marijuana was coming from immagrants, something like that

  • i bet you are a politically correct southern, aren't you, you stupid american redneck...

  • That is why the 30"s FASCIST still exist...social welfare and her jobs hooked on DRUGS

  • DRUGS?!

You capitalized it so it must be TERRIBLE, especially if it somehow connected to FASCISM!

  • This song were written under the influence of GHB and extacy and they performed it 1962-64 as an extra number!

  • this is incredible, but not as good as take 4

  • Ha! I do believe that's a joint someone is passing to Paul at 1:10

  • thats called a cigarette. tobacco leaves

  • Could be but I dunno looks like a joint to me. Why would they be passing around a cigarette?

  • yeah thats a cigarette for sure. smoke is too thin

  • Of course that's a J. No one's handing someone a sloppy roll your own cigarette. LOL, this is how far we've gone back since then that it isn't instantly recognized by everyone. If one of them had a sugar cube on his tongue, would we be debating if they were clowning around at tea time?

  • Thank you! I know I'm not crazy. That's no cigarette. I've seen enough joints to recognize one. lol

  • hehe i think mary jane = marijuana

  • ive got a version of this on "yesterday + today" sessions boot....lasting 5.30..that i got in 98....excellant vid

  • This isnt on the White Album...

    ?

  • NO.

  • i know it's not...

    THat's why i said it isn't....

  • OMG! WEll....im sorry i was drinking last night, i did read wrong.

  • Great film footage. Good shot of George and Geoff Emerick at 1:39

  • I never heard this before. This just a demo. How can you count this as a Beatles song? This was never released, right? Sounds like they're just screwin' around with an idea for a song.

  • fa cacareeeeeeee

  • worst beatles song ever!!

    sorry if i affend any1

    it's just bad!!

    even for the beatles...

  • during my teenage years- a long long time ago- i've heard about the existence of this song...and i was anxious to heart it. but it was not as good as i've expected! anyway...it's the beatles!

  • hmmm... I wonder what THIS song is about!

  • I had the impression it was about Marijuana. I may be wrong.

  • oh, john sounds like syd barrett!

  • I think it would be the other way round.

  • Very nice Beatles tune.

  • man, how could this guy make fun of a good song

  • Because he is a genius?

  • Mary Jane ;D

  • Was Ringo arrested? Not sure, but the other 3 were arrested multiple times. McCartney was the only one who had to rot for nine days in a Japanese prison, though.

  • Im pretty sure Ringo is the only one who was never arrested

  • Mary Jane?

How did the police not get these guys?

    Mari Juana

  • pretty much all of them have been arrested once

  • money talks..............

  • John Lennon's songs are so damn unique, he was a classic for his life and times.

  • the song is actually called "What's the new Mary jane"

  • mega poops!!

  • they sung like drunk...is mary jane their talking is maijuana..?

  • yeah

  • haha i love the way he says party...

  • the greatest song of all time and i am not kidding about that

  • I love the Beatles but i cant abide injokery!

  • this footage was actually from the early recording

    for Hey Jude.

  • uh uh, this song is obviously about me!!!

  • jaja q buenaa es esta cancion!! es totalmente frita.. and i liked!

  • that's the randomness of the boys that i know and love. <3

  • well when you get it right grt back to me.

  • actually no george jsut john yoko and george martin

  • this song is the s@#t, good job on getting this.its realy rear to here this again.

  • actually, this song consists of John, Yoko and George Harrison only

  • man this song freaks me out!

  • lol

  • theres one of these takes with syd barret. really rare you can find it on limewire

  • Uh-uh, it never happened. Syd never recorded a note with Lennon or the Beatles. I've seen the Mp3 that says that. It's been floating about for years, but it's just the normal bootlegged take of the song.

  • no syd did jam with john and george with this song. i have a picture of it somewhere.

  • oh! I see.

  • "What's the New Mary Jane" is a Lennon song recorded as a Demo during White Album sessions. Original demo has all 4 Beatles, this versin combines original demo with Studio sessions.

  • what the hell was that?

  • alittle tribute to pot!!!!-back in the 60's, it was mary jane
