Think in that way: t-55 and t-62are obsolete compared to anything , but as from about ten years western enemies are irregular,insurgents why didn't ship hundreds of old warsaw pact models to afghan army and others of our new local allies around the globe ?

Trials were conducted post WW2; T-55 would be tough to crack by the Tiger I L/56 88mm gun from the front, a T-55 could easily outmaneuver the Tiger, which had a slow turret traverse, for flank shots. A Panther would be more of a threat though with its harder hitting L/70 75 mm gun. From an operational standpoint, T-55 was light enough to cross bridges and cross terrain that would stop or bog down these tanks, can snorkle, has primitive night vision, anti-radiation liner. Large HE shell.

Obviously someone with a knowledge of tanks. yeah you're right. t-55 are way obsolete tanks these days but some countries still possess them. oh i meant the t-72. thanks for sharing. the abrams-1 i was told is the world's most advanced tank now. is it true? i mean you're not only talking about speed, armor, and firepower here but all its capabilities.

Basic M1 design is over 30 years old, but with upgrades to electronics and armor has kept up well; newer Leopard generation such as 2A6 with add on wedge turret face is probably the most protected, at least in certain areas, but the opposition most Western tanks would face isn't necessarily state of the art; assuming all else equal, Western tanks of the same generation would perform about the same. There is no real 'best' tank. It would come down to crew, tactics, support, and so on.

key war: russian invasion of afghan in the late 70s, the israeli-arab war 1967 and the yom kippur war of 73, persian gulf war 91 ( t-55 were no match to the us abrams)

There is no comparison between a 1º Generation MBT like the T-55 and a 3º Generation MBT like the M1 Abrams. If you want to compare the T-55 with a similar tank of its generation, do it with the M48A3 Patton or the Centurion Mk3.

yeah i ridicule myself there. imagine five T- 55 tanks against one ABRAM -1 tank in the desert. maybe atleast that's the equivalent of an abram tank by comparison to the now obsolete  T-55.

No chance- this battle could be replayed one million times and would come out the same. T-55 with upgraded armor, gun, fire control and electronics and the ability to gun fire AT-10 anti-tank missile would still be a threat to modern IFVs such as Bradley, Warrior, Marder, etc. Even a lucky side or rear hit could take out any modern tank, in theory, if all conditions were set up right. But otherwise this is a very very bad mismatch.
