  • All Day, back in the day... Whew!

  • Yeah !! Thanks for the post..

  • beautiful! and thank you for capturing the good ol record dust! classic....mos def a BBQ on a sunday song.

  • Sweeet song, always loved this tune.

  • One of the best songs ever, written, arranged and sang!

  • There should be an 'orale' category. Viva 'WAR'!

  • Laying back, playing this track. Reminds me of the summers I once knew.

    ~The gun

  • i love the sound of a REAL Record... this is incredible...

  • A rather leggy brunette came to Calumet City Illinois('71) via San Jose bringing her free spirit, fashion and music. WAR, Tower of Power, Boz Skaggs along with her presence changed me forever. Man I think about that......

  • @silvernail6 I had a similar experience, I wish they all could be "California Girls", like Cynthia Robinson of "Sly" and Mary McCreary of "Little Sister" (and later Leon and Mary Russell).

  • @silvernail6 Damn good memories!!!!!

  • War is one of the greatest bands ever. All of their music has their own original sound and is totally relevant to their audience and their time. War is not just a great band, but a great part of my life. I saw an outstanding show at the Greek Theatre in the late 70's, I will never, ever forget it!

  • Love seeing the elders drop by and sharing their experiences with musics/groups that were instrumental in shaping the sounds of r&b that exists today. A shell of its former self, yes.

  • best chicano music Betty Boop.

  • 56 years young too, sorta makes you wanna light a joint and lay back. Oh hell I may not be 18 anymore but i can still enjoy a good smoke.

  • I'm 47 years old i remember this song when i was a child, Sounded good then, and still is! im just a fan of War's music period!

  • This title track is the laid-back groove for the people...it's something else because the bridge of this song foreshadows the next album like a calm before the storm to the next album's title track, The World is a Ghetto (listen to those horns in the solo bridge and tell me if I am wrong).

  • I'm 63 and I remember listening to War in college in the early 70's...little did I realize that years later my wife and I would count drummer Sal Rodriquez drummer from war..as a friend and have members of the band and him play at our annual Christmas party.....

  • @chiliverde29,The drummer from WAR is Harold Brown, and he still performs HIS WAR songs with ORIGINAL WAR members, Howard Scott, Lee Oskar and BB Dickerson under the name THE LOWRIDER BAND. WAR fans have been lied to for so long now, that they are giving WAR credit to those who didn't create WAR music and forgetting those who did. Please drop by my channel and learn the truth. Peace.

  • @lowriderbandfan That all may be true, what you said...Bands implode every day.

But...Who is the lead singer here? He's not in the Lowrider band, and the lead singer's 'War" band doesn't have the great musicians that backed him up, The Lowrider Band.

It's us life-long fans who suffer too...

"Why Can't We Be Friends"? You gents will have to answer that one yourselves, I guess..

  • @emptyradio1, Lonnie sings lead on this song, that's true, but Lonnie is not the lead singer and writer for every WAR song like he and the OWNER/THIEF of the WAR name and copywrites would have WAR fans believe, so they and hired hands can live off the hard work, time, talent and originality of the rest of the ORIGINAL artists of WAR/LOWRIDER BAND and the fame of the WAR name. It's sad when supposed WAR fans just don't get it, and keep supporting greed and corruption, instead of what is REAL.

  • In my 50's, from Florida, and we were grooving to this back in the day. We use to go to the beach, smoke our weed, and listen to the waves. PRICELESS!

  • This is still a good chill out jam. It was when it was first released and continues to sound totally soulful!

  • I'm 22 I listen 2 WAR ALL LISTEN 2 OL SKOOL MUSIC FROM THE 60'S, 70'S, 80'S, 90'S & EARLY 00'S R&B MISS THIS TYPE OF MUSIC

  • @SOULJATWIN EXCELLANT!!! Don't ever change. You have fantastic taste.

  • god this reminds me of my late husband.the music is so real and powerful its almost like can almost feel him here.

  • My dad still plays this to this day. I still love this song.

  • I'm 51 years old, from Philly, a place called Blumberg. This is real music! War was one of the most talented bands of the 70's. I have this on wax. I love the feeling of relaxation to solid music. In the neighborhood or hanging out at Atlantic City, chillin' with a cold drink. O' this brings back some great memories of fantastic times and beautiful people, sitting out all night talking, singing, a little taste and playing basketball until...Rob, time to come in. Bless War!

  • cruisin with your ruca at sunset listenin to all day music nothing beats it

  • Great music from one of the best bands on the planet from the 70's

  • Hey guys I accidentally clicked the flag as inappropriate...my bad...total accident I dig this All Day Music!! Im 56 yrs old & still love my classic music!! Tucson gal..

  • I love this too, it WILL take you back....I'll play this forever, I just heard it on a jazz station and thought I would listen again......best ever, you got that right....oh I'm 56 yrs old..Cali Girl

  • all day

  • Hook up the batteries, clean the whip, go to the beach...hit the switches and get the bit@#es. YEA BACK IN THE DAY .......SO CAL

  • I'm 59 years old, and this just brings me back to my college days in Philly. Everything about this is great, including the dust on the needle on the record player!

  • @trdougherty - hear hear! my first concert was War- i'm 54 and STILL as good as it was then...."just lose your soul".....

  • I love this group and their music, but I am not a "war' lover!!

  • Elmira new york at the Neighborhood house 1972 the east gym partying to this song and alot of other old skool sounds. Real music. East side and Hollow having big fun.aka pokey.

  • ONE OF MY FAVORITE GROUPS OF ALL TIME!!! one of the smoothest songs ever produced... love this so much

  • @essiusc, My favorite group too. The original artists of WAR are now called THE LOWRIDER BAND. Peace.

  • @lowriderbandfan for real? I saw what I thought was WAR at B B Kings in New York last year, they were still hot - when they did Baby Brother I nearly lost it, I jumped up and started to do my old lady dance, cause all of a sudden I realize the older I get the more I dance like my Mom?? Thanks for that info Low, I would have never guessed. Peace !!

  • @essiusc, Yeah, the band you saw under the WAR name is basically a cover band with only one original WAR member and the stolen name of WAR. The 4 remaining OG's of WAR stood by each other and didn't sell out for the WAR name that THEY made famous, so that's why they call themselves THE LOWRIDER BAND, but they ARE WAR and ALWAYS have been WAR, just without THEIR WAR name. Drop by my channel for the details and for more great music by the OG's of WAR. Peace.

  • @lowriderbandfan I sure will , I love knowledgeable music folks! I'm going to keep my eyes open do you know for the Lowrider Band, for live dates... i will check your channel out.. peace babe and thanks for the info

  • @essiusc, If you want to see the REAL DEAL, the LOWRIDER BAND will be performing in Riverside, CA at the Mission Tobacco Lounge on Oct. 22. Hope you can make it. Peace.

  • @JAEBONE61 im 35 and I wish I can say im a youngster, but yea when I was 18 years old I used to play this and there other songs loud in my heap.

  • @ChicanoTattooArt Chale homie, your only as old as you feel. These oldies are my thing, I checked out your channel and its pretty firme. I collect old records and 45's, most of them my jefito gave to me when I started DJ'ing in high school. I'll try and upload a few and share my rollas with you so we can keep this alive.

  • @JAEBONE61 hell yea homie! thank you, damn thats firme you collect 45's, check out my ebay store I dont have much oldies right now pero I have tons of firme stuff homie, the lnik is on my channel if your interested homie, stay up!

  • Fifty Six and counting here also....just sitting here reminiscing about all youth gone by, the sunday afternoons we cruised Brackenridge Park in San Antonio back in the days when all was cool, gas was cheap, and chicks...welll, you had to have been there...awesome music, thanks for posting! I LOVE WAR!!!

  • WONDERFUL BAND! I bought this album when I was in high school back in the early 70s. What a song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Peace,

    A.

  • this song reminds of my mom and how she would play her oldies on sundays, I was a youngen then but boy oh boy memories. I miss my MOTHER so much may she RIP.

  • 56 here also, was in Chicago, Ill south side, when this was released, sooo smooth!!!,

  • Enjoy this song driving highway 17 with all the windows open, the top down or open on your way to Santa Cruz on a beautiful California day :)

Life was good when this song was new ~

  • i seen war live in long beach ca at a place called the vault in 2009. Still sound great live. Outstanding band to hear live.

  • @paggyann193, They may sound good but that wasn't ORIGINAL WAR. That groove is with the REAL CREATORS of WAR music, THE LOWRIDER BAND. WAR fans have been burned by Jerry Goldstein for so long now, that his WAR LIE looks like TRUTH. I was even fooled for awhile and I'm a HUGE WAR fan. Glad I learned the TRUTH before it was too late to give my WAR propers to the REAL artists of WAR.

  • @lowriderbandfan What a sound! HIP HOP and RAP SUCKS!! Todd in H-Town

  • Long live Los Angeles!!!

  • I'm also 56 years old, and I also feel what amd77 is saying. Peace!

  • Reefer And Wine Music! Let's Have A Picnic, Go To The Park....Real Summer Time Music

  • Reefer And Wine Music!

  • THIS IS REAL MUSIC CHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW L0NG BEACH IN THE HOUSE

  • send a copy of this to..jay z..kanye west and small wayne or is it little wayne..tell them its not how much money you make BUT being able to play an instrument and sing..of which they know nothing about..have a good day..

  • i wonder who are the 2 lames who dislike this jam!!!!!!

  • One of the best California bands, ever!

  • its a bit fast but thats alright

  • Every once in a while a lamb wanders astray from the flock.

Let us all be shepherds and encourage the lamb back to it's rightful family.

One such member of the flock: Leroy "Lonnie" Jordan has wandered away.

Please make a concerted effort to guide this member back to the family who wants and needs him.

    Your voice will be heard.

And Mr. Jordan is truly missed.

I would encourage everyone to support "The LOWRIDER Band" and it's original members.

Support the campaign to reunite them together.

  • i wana thank my parents for playing this all throughout my childhood. This shits gangsta!!

  • grew up on this music....sounds amazing!!

  • I'm 22 I got this Cd on my collection love WAR music classic

  • Great time, great music, Great memories! thanks,

  • artco49- STILL AN AWESOME SONG!!!! This is the right season for this song!!!

  • I'm 56 years young and to this day this has to be one of the best songs EVER written. And I can't say more than what all these other comments have to say. You've all spoken well, especially amd77j! I also love the scratches in the sound track, dates it well. Hi all you fellow WAR lovers!

  • @Scootersrides, It's great to see another WAR fan here. FYI, 4 of the ORIGINAL men of WAR still perform this and THEIR other great WAR songs, but they are now known as THE LOWRIDER BAND, because a greedy former producer of theirs STOLE THEIR WAR NAME. If you want to see and hear the REAL WAR band in action you're NOT going to find it with the WAR COVER band that tours today. Never forget the REAL OG's of WAR, Lee Oskar, Howard Scott, Harold Brown, BB Dickerson of THE LOWRIDER BAND. Peace.

  • @lowriderbandfan If by greedy former producer you're referring to original member Lonnie Jordan, then I think you're greatly mistaken.

  • @okaythenbob, Not referring to Lonnie Jordan at all. My wish it that Lonnie would come to his senses and rejoin his 4 OG WAR brothers of THE LOWRIDER BAND. That greedy former producer is Jerry "Golddigger" Goldstein. Mr. Jordan doesn't even own the name that he helped to make famous, but he was the only original surviving WAR member to cave to Mr. Golddigger's evil ways. That is why that THIEF Jerry can stake claim to the WAR fame and profit, while the 4 ORIGINAL artists of WAR get screwed.

  • @lowriderbandfan Thanks for that info. Im 42 and I remember my mom and my aunts jamming to this song!!

  • @Scootersrides 55 this Feb and I love this song too. Today's "music" leaves a LOT to be desired.

  • I was 16 back in 1972 when this song came out. The words&music stayed in my mind for many years, plus the scratches of the old vinyl adds nostalgia. thankx for posting

  • the scratches from the vinyl are almost as nostalgic as the music itself :)

  • Ooooooh it is vinyl :-)

  • THANK YOU LORD FOR THESE BEAUTIFUL SOUNDZ......

  • im 13 and i love this music

  • @ben43546 That's because it's good music, has nothing to do with age. That's great that you can appreciate it.

  • One of the smoothest acts ever to come from SoCal; This is why.

  • My dad loves this song and he loves war listens to them all day everyday and so do i and im 13 so yeah love oldies

  • Anyone else besides me notice how the back cover of this album showing the musicians is similar to the inside cover of Santana Abraxas? Almost as weird as that Pink Floyd "Dark Side of the Moon" and Bob James "Three" album covers.

  • 1 person doesn't like to play music all day. That person who voted this great song down doesn't like to listen to "All Day Music" all day, either! Has that person no soul? I guess not!

    Bravo, WAR!

  • A favorite by War! I could listen to "All Day Music" all day long! From 1971!

    Bravo, Lee Oskar & Co.!

  • All Day Music, that's what I'm talking 'bout. (...love the pops and scratches of the vinyl)

  • This song change the way I listen to music, Just loved it!!

    Oh yeah!

  • TOO DAM GOOD

  • VERRRRY soothing to the soul and mind!!

  • Brings back memories of Overton Park in Memphis, Tennessee on a Sunday afternoon in the summer with all the young Black folk hanging out. Beautiful sisters everywhere. And music like this to set the mood. No worries about random shootings, gangs, or drugs. When we knew who we were and that we were going someplace in life. Thanks for posting!!!

  • @amd77j Absolutley! We used to drive our parents' cars to the park next to TSU in Nashville, play our musical 8 tracks and hang out. We never feared for our lives or worried about fights & stuff. And yes, we knew we had a hope and a future.

  • @ggblueam Those were the days. And our popular music was so fitting, so uplifting......

  • @amd77j sounds like very good memories!!!

  • I been listening to war for over 3 decades! and they still sound good!

  • I remember when this album first came out. My older brother bought the 8-track (yeah, they were around then) and he, I, and my younger brother would go to the laundry to wash clothes together. Of course the girls were there doing their thing (why else would he bring his little bros with him? SOMEBODY had to put the clothes in the machine while he bird dogg the chicks).

  • Reminds me of the drives to Best Buy with Mom on Saturday afternoons back in '95. Thanks for the musical education Mom.

  • Smokin a doobie and playing with the mounds on mah ladies chest is what this reminds me of.

  • This song makes me think of my Family and all the loved ones and freinds that have passed on, all the Homies that I knew growing up that have also passed on, all the weekend B.B.Q's in the back yard with the old lady Hot summer days spent drinking Budwiser an Corona cooking Carrne asada, Just staying out of trouble, kicking back and injoying life.
